Even after 8 months this was super helpful. I have been looking for a larger build volume printer and had not heard of some of these. I went to the Sovol website to see what they had and saw the SV08 before you got to #1 and man that thing checks boxes. great price for the tech and build volume. Love the videos and learning a lot watching. Thank you Moses!

Im a fresh newbie to printing but the way you present yourself and your workspace and also how you format your opinions, it has given me enough confidence to pull the trigger on the ELEGOO Neptune 3 max. Im also getting some extra nozzles and 2 fillament rolls for under $400, which is nuts. Ill edit once it comes in to update. Great video man, its exactly what anyone whos looking into getting a larger printer wants to see, im pretty sure a majority want to print helmets anyways haha

This is my next class of printer, and it's going to be the SV08 unless Bambu moves in Q3.

Good to see that my 2 helmet printers are up there. Artillery X4 Plus and Neptune 4 Plus .
Thanks for an honest review and keep them coming !

Hi could you put chapters in videos like this so I can go back and rewatch certain printers?

Nice video, I use a ender 5 plus for large prints such as helmets etc. as you have said about a number of machines it’s a little dated and slow. I’ve upgraded the machine heavily and it’s a work horse. Simple to operate (klipper) and easy to maintain. There’s nothing I can’t replace or upgrade if needed, if a get the need to feel a bit old school to tinker that’s my goto machine in a room of modern printers. The more modern machines I feel give a better overall operational environment but not all are easy to maintain and can be very demanding. There is no perfect 3d printer out there and probably never will be due to trade offs. But I really enjoy your videos as sometimes it’s interesting to see how things have changed over the years

I have the Artillery SW-X4 pro. It’s a smaller build plate at 240x240, but I haven’t had a failed print yet and all prints have been very clean. Recommended 👍🏻

I am creating a position at my company using 3D printing for prototyping in a niche manufacturing facility. I have a couple small volume printers, but I will need to delve into these larger format printers. I'll get to "play" with these at my company's expense! This video was very informative in my decision making. Great info! Subscribed!

Creality K1 Max. I have had really good success doing helmets on it.

Great video ! Thank you for showing these printers in amazing detail. I have Artillery Sidewinder X1 and FLSun S1 and Flsun T1, I feel my S1 is the most awesome helmet class 3D printers😄💯

Thanks for the video, I greatly appreciate it! However, I still could not decide on one printer. So, I got the Elegoo Neptune 4 Plus and the Sovol SV08. Both seem to have a lot of upgrade and mod potential! And, they are both supported in OrcaSlicer.

Great video. With the new enclosed ELEGOO, S1 Pro you tested, and other printers just released, when might you make an update on the best Large Format 3D Printer ranking? Also, do you have a location where you might make updates monthly or something on what your number 1 through 10 might be before making a video as new printers come and you test? I am currently looking to maybe get an enclosed printer instead like the S1 or S1 Pro or maybe even the new enclosed ELEGOO. Thank you.

Neptune 4 Plus is the Perfect Sweet Spot. It may have had some early firmware issues but once it's tuned in and updated it's been great. 730 hours in and still going strong.

Fully agree with your no. 1 choice, I love my SV08. I printed a helmet on the Artillery Sidewinder X2 just after buying it, but with the 0.4mm nozzle. Took days to print! Currently waiting on both the Sovol enclosure and 4 nozzle kit, then will try a helmet with the 0.8mm nozzle.

Thanks for the awesome video. Looking to get my first 3D printer. I was leaning toward the Bambu P1S mostly because i hear it's pretty user friendly. Is that build plate too small to ever print a helmet? Thanks

Picked up the Sovol SV08 with the launch price of $450 and I am so thrilled I did. I had some bumps along the way (hot end blobbing up and self destructing randomly) and their tech support was helpful and replaced everything that broke free of charge.

I wanted to buy a Creality CR10S5 a few years ago, but wasn't able to, and by the time I could, they were out of production. Recently, I have been looking for a large scale printer, and was getting very close to getting a RatRig V-Core 4.0 @500x500x500 with just about every bell and whistle, but hesitated when I saw the nearly $3000 price tag. Thankfully I stumbled across this video when my trigger finger was getting itchy again looking at the RatRig printer, and saw the Comgrow T500. The price tag went up a little bit since you posted this video, but the price tag is less than 1/3 of the RatRig, consider it
