Guys, football is a chess match. When you play against someone online, look for what they like to do, what plays they like etc... If they like stacking the box and blitzing you will not have much time in the pocket just like in real life if you do not have your TE's and RB's helping pick up blitzers. If they don't blitz often and only have 3-4 guys on the d-line you will have a hard time completing passes. It won't be impossible but you will have a much harder time passing so run the ball! If your opponent makes fun of you for just running the ball a lot that's because they are being stupid and don't know how to play the game of football! Even in real life play calling plays a huge part in the success of drives and whole games in general. Have somewhat of a gameplan and mix up your plays, that is how you become a good player.

Man, I've been throwing so many picks but after watching this I feel like the game is giving me the tools to do better, I just haven't been adapting. The total control passing is something I need to spend some time to learn to do more effectively.

I always try to have at the very least 3 good quick reads, the fact is most players wont have the time to go Through all 5 reads to their receiver so I try to simplify it cause im not the best passer of close to being elite and have struggled with it. You just have to get used to seeing the field quickly and watching where defenders move to. Checkdowns are crucial. Having some idea what defense your opponent is in can help a little. Understanding your opponents blitz methods and blocking to have extra time in the pocket and repetition. I'll go into practice mode and run a play against a certain defense like cover 3 and see how it works and try to scheme guys open and then run it against another defense like cover2 and 4. Quick easy reads, pocket awareness, practice/repitition, utilizing checkdowns and understanding what different coverages do and adjusting/hot routing guys open or a chance to get open.

Another good tip is playing Gun Bunch, it allows you to block with your TE & RB. You can really play around with it & mix it up to catch people off guard.

Luring people in works for me. Run heavy, use a few check downs to get the defense complacent. Then get them in man coverage audible into a verts. Have a fast receiver and its touchdown every time.

Thank you for the content Sir. I liked the video already beause it is informative. I have a major issue with madden 22 ps4. When i have one on one coverage and i throw the ball deep and user the receiver there is a ''DELAY, '' madden will not let me catch the ball. I hit the button a bunch of times but it only lets the DB int EVERYTIME. Not like the old madden better game play.

If there was time to go through progressions, then we wouldn't need to worry about passing "tips". EA created a double edge sword with the changes they made. They make blitzing even easier now on an already crap O line blocking system. So you basically get 1 progression and BOOM sack! Then they make the secondary ridiculously hard to pass on so interceptions come in a fury. If they would've just made the secondary better and actually fixed the O line problem, passing would be much easier to do. It's way too frustrating now.

TBH, it feels like the new pass lead is the old throwing mechanics from PS2 days. I'm not talking about the visual of the bars, just the ability to lead your passes with control.
