The $10 impact, and 192 pc tool kit would be perfect for a kids present. Inexpensive but useful enough that a kid could learn, and you wouldn't be out much if something broke.

About 6 years ago I bought an air powered die grinder off wish for $15usd, it came with a dozen different bits, different size chucks etc. I thought it'd be worth a laugh but no, it's worked flawlessly up until this very day! It gets used multiple times a week and I'm still amazed at how damn good it is.
Wish is full of crap but once in awhile, that crap is accidentally great 😅

For the orbital sander, I suspect it IS a Bosch sander. The factory just "accidentally" made an extra batch of them, without the branding, and sold them to a company that slapped their own brand on them, and threw them at Wish.

For plasma cutters, if you disconnect the air while the machine is on, some machines make you restart it. And often times, if the consumables on the torch head aren't tight enough, the machine will also not work until you tighten them and restart the machine.

I was gifted the 198pcs tool kit from one of my friends after I moved away from home to join the navy, and I have to say, while some of the pieces' handles have fallen off and I have to shove them back on, it has been great to have. I've used it to replace radios, door locks, window motors, and wheels along with other small maintenance around the house. It may feel cheap, but I've put a beating on those and they've lasted over 4 years now

Ever since I watched the torque wrench test, I’m always scared for the eyeballs of the Donut Staff when I see a new testing video

Shame you guys didn't open the plasma cutter to see what was inside. Considering this came from Wish I wouldn't be surprised if the only thing in the box was a case-fan, some wires for the light in the switch and a brick that was glued on the bottom to make it feel heavy. 😅

Also, you have to check the shipping costs as that's where these companies make their money. Like they charge you $30 plus $90 in shipping while they pay next to nothing to ship via bulk container (which is why it usually takes 2-3 months for stuff to arrive).

I'd love to see them make an entire mechanic starter kit using exclusively wish tools. Either set a budget or have a competition to see who can do it cheapest.
Like impacts, hand tools, sockets, organizers, tool box, everything. Close to everything that a C or B level tech would need to get through the week. That'd be fun to see who can get the most functional, and diverse tool collection this way.

Zach saying "Jobe!" while shooting stuff in the trash is a great example of why I love this guy 😅

The wobble on that impact is a design feature, if you read all the literature you’d see Wish incorporated a u joint to help access all those tough to reach nuts and bolts

My dad got me a tool set like the one in this video (but smaller) when I was a kid and started to get interested in tools and cars. We were renovating our house at the time and I felt so grown up to be able to bring my own toolset out to do the little jobs I could help out with. When he knew I was responsible and wasn’t going to lose or break anything, he let me use the good stuff. I kept the toolset in my closet for years, it was convenient to have to hand for any quick jobs in the house without going out to the garage/truck. They aren’t great, but they have their place at times.

The plasma cutter definitely needed more investigation, it would have probably been an easy fix. I have the exact same one only I paid 120 for it and it cuts great

I could see the $10 impact being decent for like a RC car/boat hobby, also realllly wish they took the case off the plasma cutter to see if it was faulty or just a full blown scam.

Build quality/durability is one thing when it comes to cheaper tools, but safety is the biggest issue.

The $10 impact wrench is listed now for $91.

I have the electric jack and for those of us with bad backs its a life saver. I've never regretted buying it and it fits in the trunk of my grand prix just fine

The $10 impact would be good to use to put wheel nuts back on. It won’t over torque. Then you can go over with torque wrench if you want to.

Jerry and Jobe are honestly my favorite duo at Donut. One's a professional mechanic and the other is a mechanical engineer and their combination of science and experience, plus their personalities make them my favorite to watch.

My experience with these sorts of products is that they DO work, but they have almost no durability. Need it once? You're fine. Need it a hundred times? Maybe get your tools from somewhere else.

EDIT: Also, sometimes the factories in China produce name brand tools, then produce the *exact same tool* for another brand. All they do is change the stencil and box. That's probably why that sander they used was comparable to the Bosch sander they showed - it IS the Bosch sander, just with a different name.

Jeremiah totally dug that electric jack out of the trash after filming was wrapped lol
