WoT Blitz: Enhanced Armor vs Improved Assembly Test

Показать описание
Vehicles are a Tiger I and IS-3 Defender.
The Tiger is using the 8,8 cm Kw.K. 36 L/56 with calibrated shells and APCR. Penetration is 205 mm, and the Penetration Boost skill was not activated. Tests were conducted from 100m away on the Naval Frontier map on level ground, where the Tiger was directly facing the front of the IS-3D. The L/56 was chosen to help highlight the differences between Improved Assembly and Enhanced Armor.
The first test was with the IS-3D using Improved Assembly and the second test was with it using Enhanced Armor. Shots were tested on the IS-3D’s UFP and LFP. There were no turret shots.
Shot breakdown:
2 shots to the upper left UFP
2 shots to the upper right UFP
1 shot to the middle
5 shots to the LFP
With Improved Assembly, no shots failed to penetrate, while aiming at the weakest spots in the armor. With Enhanced Armor:
1 out of 2 shots to the upper left UFP failed to penetrate;
2 out of 2 shots to the upper right UFP failed to penetrate;
1 out of 1 shots to the middle UFP penetrated; and
1 out of 5 shots to the LFP failed to penetrate.
In total, 5/10 (or 50%) of the shots failed to penetrate with Enhanced Armor. Therefore, it can be concluded that Enhanced Armor will marginally enhance the armor’s ability to block damage from both low-penetration guns and lower-tier vehicles. It may also increase the amount of random bounces or non-penetrations.
