How to sew on a patch by hand.

You need to have:
▸ Patch
▸ Needle
▸ Thread (it should be of the same color as the patch border)
▸ Thimble (some people find them useful)
▸ Double sided tape.

1. Thread the needle
2. Stick the double sided tape to the back of the patch (the tape will stop the patch moving around)
3. Choose the correct place on the garment for the patch.
4. Remove the other side of the tape and stick the patch to the garment.
5. Now your ready to sew. Keep your stitches tight together, between 1mm - 2mm apart, consistency & patience is the key to a tidy job.
6. Remember to tie a knot in the thread when you're finshed, then check for movement of the patch, it should be tight not loose.

Personally, I already know how to thread a needle and tie off my thread, and how to tie a finishing knot once I'm done. So I didn't mind not having those things in this video. But yeah you may want to re-record this one (if you haven't already. Haven't gone to your page to check yet) since you didn't get very good or clear footage of the actual stitch you're using to attach the patch.

I really just needed my memory jogged since I haven't attached a patch in a while, so this did kind of work for me but only because I already previously knew how to do it and the one tenth of a seocnd you showed the stitch was enough to jog my memory.

Thanks, it's been a few decades since I last did a sowing project. Fixing up an old uniform. The patch on the pocket was starting to fall off.

Yeah, this was bad. Hell, I know how to sew and this was still bad. I just wanted a memory refresher. I needed a reminder on how to keep each stitch tight btwn pulls so you couldn't see them but this is the wrong stitch and poorly executed at that. Hell, I've seen boy scout troops do a better job their 1st time out of the gate

One would think that an instructional for sewing on a patch would at least demonstrate the type of stitch that should be used.
