As a childless dog guy, I tried to become emotionally available and financially stable before having a family. I get treated as a freak by selfidentified conservatives all the time because I am older and don't have a slew of kids I can't afford. I am always the first one required to work unwanted overtime because I don't have kids and "don't understand what it's like." I am happy this issue is being raised even though I don't expect anything to come of it.

The idea of childless cat ladies running the country does not bother me. In fact, I think things would run quite well.

What pains me so much. As someone who worked with women in support groups. I cannot tell you how many women are pained not being able to have children. Some are married desperately trying to get pregnant through IVF and are heartbroken after failed attempts (Republicans want to stop infertility treatment too). Others are women nearing their 30s or in their 30s who have not met a partner to start a family yet. And fear they may not ever have children. And these women are Republicans, Democrats, and Independents. For Vance to say this is both extremely ignorant and rude.

He is absolutely right. We childless people are sociopathic, which is my case. I chose not to have kids, and as a consequence I travelled the world: 91 countries and still travelling. I speak 6 languages. Right now as we speak I spend 2 months out of the year in the ITALIAN DOLOMITES trekking and relaxing. The rest of the year, the world is my stage. I entertain a lot, I read, I have two university degrees and I only think about taking good care of myself as I have no children and no worries. I think I will now get a PSYCHLOGIST who will tell me that I need to move to NYC, make money just to pay rent, and live a miserable life trying to keep up with the JONESES.

Its shocking the obnoxious, insensitive things JD Vance says -- he sounds backward, ignorant and unstable. Calling those with no kids 'childless cat ladies' and sociopaths. But he's coming across like the sociopath. He had a neglectful drug addicted mother that didn't raise him and he's deflecting that rage and disappointment on women, and generalizing those who are childless. Not everyone who is a parent is better and some are abusive to their kids. And some people tried hard to have kids and didn't happen. And childless people can care about other's kids and future of their country. Vote kamala Harris for president. Trump and nut jobs around him like JD Vance and their project 2025 should be soundly rejected.

Most of the childless cat ladies support free school lunches, universal health care, child care, tax credits for those with children, funding for public schools, food support, choice for women, paid sick leave, etc. Who DOESN'T support all of these family-friendly policies? The Party, whose name I dare not mention, that fought in both Houses to defeat them. But then, they DID vote for tax breaks to help billionaire families, so each party supports DIFFERENT families in America!

I'm a childless cat lady. My childhood was traumatic, and I became an alcoholic at 14. I chose not to have children because I did not want to pass on alcoholism and my warped perception of love and family, and I valued independence. (Who wants to rely on others when all they've experienced is betrayal?) Cats are a perfect fit for an independent woman full of love.

I acted responsibly by not burdening a future generation, healed myself of the trauma, and I now serve the Creator. Vance sounds like a clueless bigot that has more growing to do. I don't think he's responsible enough to lead others based on his comment. (But it could just be another psyop to enrage the populace. "Keep them fighting amongst themselves while we despoil their inheritance.)
