My mom passed on 9/11 2021 @11:19 she was my Best friend, my mate. My life companion. I’m fifty and never could be more than a two minute drive away. My parents are waiting for me to get there and my kids wait for me to recover and find joy again. Sometimes I question which one of us is really alive and which one died. Grief can be an ocean.

The song you always knew Joanne Shaw Taylor had in her and always hoped she would write, "Fade Away, " is simply breathtaking. A slow piano ballad driven by perhaps the best vocal performance Taylor has ever recorded. The bare, raw lyric mines the depth of her soul and opens her up in a way she has never done in the past. I had to stop what I was doing to set it on repeat: Taylor is truly Astonishing!

Goddamn' what annother site of JST - so smooth, so deep verry introverted, the buddah in the fading away - wouldn' buy it from no one with more thruth but a lady who can kickstart a Telly from Hell in a different moment and mood.

Joanne, thank you for the beautiful words and music. This is exactly what I needed to hear. Years after my loss. I keep looking and listening for the words to make it easier. You have done that for me here in Texas. Thank you from my heart. ❤️Cindy

Beautiful 💕 .. I lost my mum in 2020 to pancreatic cancer and there isn’t a second, minute, hour, day, week, month or year that I don’t think about her .. 💔😘

Had the good fortune of seeing Ms. Taylor in NYC last night. I knew she was an amazing guitarist (which brought me to the show). To my delight, she also has amazing pipes! It was truly an outstanding show. The love in the audience was doubtless. Looking forward to seeing her live again. Hey Joanne, "How YOU doin'? from NY with love.

At 3am all the emotions of every phase of my life and every decision I've made hits me and this beautiful song embodies them all! I am 64 and have what i call "a lot of different lives I've lived" with many of them gone or changed beyond recognition and are just "memories of what used to be"!

Thank You!

Just watched you in Kalamazoo last night and sobbed uncontrollably this entire song💜. My sweet Mama passed from Alzheimer’s in March and it’s so hard. 💔

Rarely these days, after so many decades of walking this earth, has a vocalist sang a song that reverberated right into my soul! Absolutely Beautiful! The tonal quality of her voice reaches into your soul!

I commented on this song when I first heard it but I saw her at the beginning of December and she explained how she was feeling and about the song and I honestly couldn't even sing along to it, I had the biggest lump in my throat, still now I can't get through it without a tear...I think a lot of us can relate to the situation and how she gets through getting on stage and keeps it together is nothing short of miraculous...honestly Joanne your outstandingly talented and so down to earth, it was a pleasure to come and see you ♥ 🎸
