I completely disagree with one important thing Tim.
You are a professional. If you're not a pro. Who is?
Excellent video!

Not only was your repair excellent but recording of the repair was awesome! Good job, Tim. What camera and software are you using to make your videos.

Thanks for the tutorial. Once we're out of this whole *great pandemic of 2020* I will have to do this on my qx411. The center tip of the charge port is cracked/split so the center prong of the cord has a hard time maintaining contact with the port.

Where should I find a replacement charging port? It will also need a battery as well, likely dead because of the repeated charge port contact issue.

Great video, what's additionally involved in replacing the keyboard?

Thank you for this video, i was able to successfully comlpete this project and your video was a big help. I dont kow if you're aware of this but at the beginning of your video, the antenna wires were positioned red on the left and yellow on the right but at the end of the video when you were putting everything back together you put the yellow on the left and the red on the right... I put my laptop back together with the red on the left and the antennae (wifi?) is working correctly.

I would like to throw out there for anyone who needs help with desoldering, there's a product called chip-quik that has a special paste and solder that both make the solder on the board melt easier and longer, I recommend watrching the youtube video of it. The method that worked for me was a rework station (same as the one in this video, on amazon), desoldering pump (takes practice to use), soldering iron, chip quik, and regular paste/flux.

Camera is Panasonic HDC-SD90. I use mainly Adobe Premiere CS6 to edit. Thanks for watching.

What are the CPU upgrade options for this chipset?

It's kind of backwards but after removing the motherboard you have full access to removing the keyboard. Just a few screws holding it in place. Thanks for watching.

Question, you mention hot air, is this a heat gun? What tool are you using for applying heat to remove the solder?

No upgrade options here. The cpu is soldered to the board.

HI good video..the way I did mine was strange..I did not remove the entire jack from the board...I clipped away the old jack, removing all but the pins going thru the board...and soldered the new jack on top of the pins where the old one works..I used no heat gun, just a standard soldering iron, but before I did this I did try to do it your way, and the pins going thru the board would not remove, or I could not get them hot enough to remove the old jack.

I know you recommend the heat resistant tape, however I can't find any in my area, would it be too dangerous to go without it?  Is it a necessity in this situation?  Thankyou!

Hi, While doing this The backlight screen of the laptop stopped working. I checked the screen and it works great with another Laptop so I know it's the motherboard. The thing is it that it stopped working as soon as I fixed this Power Jack. Do you have any Idea on the points to check around this jack to see if any component is damaged or pins to check for the backlight in the screen cable?. I actually was very careful on not touching any other component but it still didn't work. Any help would be good, thanks!
