Duplicate your plants with this easy air layering method. It’s not difficult to execute and has virtually no maintenance in most situations. Just wait a few months and you will have a new free plant.

Due to a heavier workload and a few health issues I was unable to publish videos during the last few months. I hope to resume a more regular publishing schedule as soon as possible. I am very sorry for all the viewers and subscribers that asked questions and published comments that remained answered during this period. I appreciate your input and support. Thank you very much.

If you like the video or have any questions, leave a comment and I will try to answer as many as I can. Thanks for watching.

I have been grafting for 8 years now. Everything that I've learned, that actually worked, I learned from this channel. Now I'm blessed with multiple varities of apples, grapes, figs, jujubees, persimmons, papaws, elderberries, plums, peaches, sea buckthorn, and aronia. This guy is so awesome. Thanks for making the world better, brother.

I've read about air layering but the books made it seem quite difficult so i never really bothered. You've simplified it quite a lot and I'm going to actually try it on my lemon tree today. Everybody tells me they wish they had a tree like mine because it grows bountiful fruit year round. I'll be happy to share clones of my tree with my friends. Thank you for sharing your wisdom 😊

I stumbled upon your grafting videos one night last year and was fascinated and did a ton of research into it and ended up grafting a bunch of pear branches onto hawthorns arround my parents parents farm. It was late spring and all my "scions" were actively growing branches from there pear tree so wasn't expecting much more than just kill some time but I am happy to say a few took! I plan to do the same this year but my scions have been sitting in the fridge a few weeks. Buds will break soon on the trees so if anyone's reading this wish me some luck in my second season of grafting!

Here in the tropics I am having limited success with air laying on some rare exotic fruit trees. I love the recycled container idea . Thanks for your informative videos

This is FANTASTIC!! Thank you for making and posting this video. I really love to work with plants and enjoy their benefits. I live in Florida USA where weather is very hot & humid. I will try this very soon! One thing that you do not mention, is how long to wait before checking for root growth. I don't think that you would want to unwrap everything too soon, just to find out that it is not ready yet.

Brother your videos are very nice and the way you describe with enough details to get your message through is much appreciated. I saw your 2 videos (this and one about grafting Scions ) and both have cleared so many doubts that I earlier had . Just 2 videos and I am a subscriber of your content. This was very motivating to work for my plants . Also I like you voice as well. Keep up the good work 💪🔥

I don't subscribe to any channel, ever for any of my hobbies. I just hop from one video to the next. BUT this gentleman however... I've subscribed and am looking forward to the next tutorial. Thank you for your knowledge. Don't tell the other channels

Thank you so much for all your hard work. The information you have provided has been so helpful. I've been studying your videos regularly and am in my second season of grafting dormant scions. Your technical information and examples are so useful and confidence inspiring. I would love to see some of the more general information about your gardening. How did you get so into grafting? Or how do you manage things like tree spacing and irrigation. Again excellent work.

Thank you for tip and technique ❤
Can you please share if container needs moisture feed? What is for roots to come (45 - 60 days)?
Best time root building is early spring or when leaves start?

I really appreciate when people who have real experience post quality videos. Thank you.

Unfortunately YouTube is saturated with videos made by those who have such poor self restraint.

I propagate every year to simply learn and get better. I air layer, take cuttings and graft every year. It seems to me that air layering should be done early in the season. I think a few weeks past bud break it perfect for most trees. I used to think the tree needed to first build up strength and be in an energy positive state before layering. I have less luck layering in mid summer.

I have had a few trees that did not root. I have taken “failed layered” branches and propagated them as cuttings the following spring. It seems stripping the bark or layering late summer makes for perfect cutting material. For the largest layered branches I typically harvest the following fall.

Awesome

Pre rooting is a new idea to me. That way I can have more success with the plants I graft. Last year I had a little success. This year, I have all the materials ready, so I can go at the right time. Thanks.
