Year 11 can be like a slap in the face. Year 10 you can chill out and leave things until the last minute and still do well.

This doesn't work in Year 11... In this video, Rowan from #AOSTV shares 3 practical things you can do to set yourself up to make the leap from Year 10 into Year 11 so you don't get surprised.

Rowan shares:

- How and why you should be setting goals for Year 11
- Why study notes are super important and how to get on top of them
- Write daily to-do lists each day when you come home after school
- Control distractions like your phone

I went into Year 11 last year with a mindset of achieving the best marks I could. However I only managed to achieve good results in only a few of my subjects, while the others weren't as good as I wanted. This happened because I had no real plan on how to achieve everything and spread out my study, I just studied randomly. My advice to anyone moving into year 11 is to plan out your study so that you can maximise your study in each area effectively.

Good luck!

Hello Rowan, I am asking the following question on behalf of some people who would like to remain anonymous. Why is your business called 'The Art of Smart'? Is it because of the internal rhyme of 'art' and 'smart'? I represent a group of individuals who love poetry and as enthusiasts of internal rhyme, we would like to know if this choice was intentional.
Kind regards,

TL;DR:
- Set goals for Year 11
-Write consistent study notes daily
-Daily to-do list after school
-Minimise distractions (lock websites and devices for specific times)

Hi, I’m currently in year 11 in my third week and I’m not really sure how much study notes I should be writing. I write notes from what we did in class but I feel like it’s not enough.

Hi ArtofSmart team! I'm about to enter yr11 and I am super excited, yet conscious of the massive workload increase. How would you recommend doing study notes? I have seen in multiple of your videos that you recommend making study notes one week in advance (something I will definitely do) and I assume I can derive study note information from textbooks and other study books like ATAR Notes and Excel, but how do you suggest I complete the study notes? Add to them every day? Knock out my study notes all at once during a block of time once a week? Hand write or type them?
