I’ve learned from my recent studies of Buddhist and Stoic philosophy about impermanence. In life change is inevitable and at times uncomfortable. When we attempt to resist change we increase the pain. It appears that you’re accepting this change as best you can under the circumstances, and you’re logically evaluating next steps. Because it’s your future, not ours, I will respect whatever decision you make as best for you. Thank you for sharing parts of your journey with us. You’ve been a light and a delight to many, myself of course included. I look forward to hearing your decision and wish your sister the best in her recovery.

I am not a vanlifer, but enjoy watching travelers like yourself. However, several have moved on to different lifestyles and I still watch their content. As others stated, do what you want and need. So many of us will still follow your content. Your sparking personality will shine through.

You've got this! Please continue to post. This is part of your journey and the journey of those who experience trouble with our vehicles. We struggle through and keep going because travel, meeting new people, seeing new places, and experiencing nature and the "man-made world" are what we want/need to feel alive and present in this life.

I found all kinds of used engines for your van on that famous auction site with one quick search. Site starts with E. Find a small town mechanic with a good rep and lower prices (lower overhead), get the engine couriered to him and away you go. I saw several engines from $900 to $1300. The inspect them and test them and give a guarantee from the right seller. Your vehicle IS an older vehicle, which means there are MANY parts available from used vans in wrecking yards - including engines. Another alternative is to stay with friends while you own engine gets a rebuild.

Time for a new adventure! Build out something different and it will give you a new attitude and direction. Your viewers will support whatever you decide, but I think you still have an abundance of information and ideas to still share with us!😊

I have been inspired watching so many YouTubers chronicle their adventures doing van life. Whether watching beginner build outs or furnishing ideas. Thank you for sharing your experiences with us. I am now (still I believe a young man) in my 50's and ready for a new adventure like this. It's like turning the page to a new chapter in life. I sincerely pray to the Lord for success when the day comes to 'launch'. Blessings.

I am so sorry you are going through this, Dee. It must be so traumatic. I had engine failure in the minivan I lived in. I know you'll be back on top even if it takes some time.

You are such a great designer! You have taken us step by step on how to build out your van while on a limited budget. You seem extremely happy about your van life and we all enjoy sharing your experiences with you. Cost is always the issue, what is affordable now and in the long run. I would love to see you in a larger vehicle and see how you would design it. Whatever your decision is we will all continue to support you.

I discovered you only a month ago and immediately fell in love with your story, your inspiration and determination. As a man who chooses to live simply, you have impressed me! I fully expect to hear from you again! Much love!! Karl

Dee, you face every situation with such grace. When one faces a crossroads take the time to weigh the options . When you’re looking at options for a vehicle, ask yourself could this be the one to bring you joy as your journey continues. Please know this wounded community will be behind you whatever you decide.

Whatever you do will be wonderful. You have the most peaceful and aesthetic taste in all that you do with your van (and your future abode, I'm sure), and you are a kind spirit. We will continue to check in if you decide to stay with YouTube. We wish you all the best!

I found you because of van life but I would watch any video you chose to make no matter what you were doing. In the end you are the only one with all the details and really the only one who knows your heart. I wish you happiness, love and all the good stuff wherever you go and whatever you decide to do❤

Dee, you are one of the 1st nomads I met in person and I will always remember you for your smile and your warmth. When you have named a rig and there is a major life story attached to that rig it is literally like watching a family member suffer. I have named my vehicle and my trailer and people tell me I protect them like my kids. I have not named my house and all it has brought me is grief and stress. Whatever direction is needed - just be sure you want to name it and bring a piece of Ladybug with you because she will always be in your heart but it is nice to have something tactile occasionally🤗

I understand the feeling of loss of a family member! I drive an old toyota minivan/ camper that makes me so happy just to sit in her. Nearly 200k miles now, i bought at 20k. She's part of me! So I vote, get her fixed, and keep going. She's your baby! Good luck to you.
