well it is the catchers fault for not being good at framing and also why would they move up that far up

I get framing for borderline line calls. But if the ball is 3 inches off the plate, the unpire should be able to see that whether it is framed or not

This is just another example of where an automated strike zone improves the game. Framing is not something that should be applauded as a skill. It is literally deceiving an umpire. And people get upset that the umpire doesn’t get calls right.

The managers should be ashamed of themselves

I love Salvy, but no catcher should change that drastically

Framing is stupid, the catchers injury idms their own fault and it should be a free base

I feel like this is an issue that will solve itself. As in the catchers should still do it, but then teams can’t get mad if they’re out of their best catchers because their hands are broken

Hitting is a form of art, pitching is a form of art. Catching the ball can be an art form as well, but it shouldn’t impede the first two.

Simple rule change: Make a line the catcher must be behind when they catch the pitch unless the ball hits the ground or a runner is attempting to steal a base.

It’s called art cause it’s supposed to look natural. Not this drag it back to the middle of the zone bs

Just one more reason to institute robot umps. No subjective calls, no need to frame.

A computer is less biased than an umpire and dont take bribes 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

once catchers realize that they will seriously injury themselves by doing this bs it’ll stop real quick

Simply put a solid white line behind the plate where the catcher has to stand during the pitch. Make it far enough away so there wont be interference. If they start in front of the line call it a ball.

Framing is kinda stupid if your pitcher can’t pitch practice? as someone who used to play Catcher that’s stupid why would you risk breaking your hand possibly ruining your career for a ball to be called a strike after all it’s a game for fun and entertainment.

In what world is #25 “one of the best”

This will matter 0% when they just bring in the automatic zone, so idk this is trying to be a new gig.. it’s coming in 1-2 years

Framing has been around forever . It has to do with catchers manipulating the strike zone . Should be a double if a dumb catcher gets in the way of your swing

Framing kinda defeats the purpose of playing the game professionally. If you’re gonna be cheating out the rules of the game, what’s the point?

People adapted to the game and found out new ways to steal calls from umpires and that goes for every sport we find new ways to get better and win more, so it is all up to the catcher if he wants to move up in the box WITH the risk of breaking there hand

Im a catcher too 😊👍
