Shortly, Moons Grondverzet of Waddinxveen, The Netherlands reported at VSE, with the question if we could make his Nooteboom semi lowloader with self-steer axle more manoeuvrable. It worked out fine, by installing Smart Steering: the smart and only 40 kg light helper steering system for self-steer axles. When manoeuvring, the rear axle now steers when driving forward and backwards.

The system is thus not only suitable for new trailers, but in many cases also for retrofit.
