You gotta remember that the people who buy NFTs as soon as they're made available are, generally, first and foremost investors hoping to flip them at a higher price later.

Just so you know, the streaming software is literally a script that installs OBS somewhere hidden and uses a frontend made by them to stream.

TikTok's new service is a fork of OBS and it's violating their license.

Nvidia must think the shortage and scalping only apply to 30 series GPUs. Lol

As for the NFTs, I think it's important to realize that the vast majority of people aren't buying into it. The game only earned $54 million because there are some very "rich" and bored people in the crypto space and they have nothing else to spend their crypto on after they bought their Tesla with BTC and their Bored Ape NFT with ETH. To ask us to "make up our minds" disingenuously implies that the wider gaming community as a whole, or near enough, contributed to that $54 million. We didn't. The game only has 4, 661 plots total, and as of writing this comment only ~150 are left. So, ~4500 people bought in out of millions of gamers, and there is strong argument to be made that the majority of those 4500 aren't even gamers. They're more likely crypto investors and speculators with a lot of spare crypto and nothing else to spend it on and a hope that their "land" purchase will appreciate in value just in time to sell it before it tanks to almost nothing.

Gamers aren't confused. We're just constantly besieged by Cryptbros looking for the next thing to speculate on.

The Tik Tok Live studio is an illegal fork of OBS. Again, an illegal fork of OBS. OBS is open source software and the Tik Tok studio is a *proprietary* fork of OBS, which breaks OBSs license. There is currently legal action being taken against each other.

Sometimes I wish the US government did put the smack down on TikTok.

Willing to bet TikTok just ripped the code for Twitch Studio that leaked. The UI and features looks WAY too similar to be coincidence.

0:25 It seems the TikTok livestream app is literally just a fork of OBS, so no wonder it's robust. Everything was already implemented by OBS and TikTok just needed to repackage it.

The TikTok streaming app is also a badly rebranded and illegal port of obs.

I was scrolling through newegg and I noticed that on new intel cpus, windows 11 compatibility is a "feature" I never recall seeing windows 10 being a feature. Just confused how that is a selling point.

Seperate games from NFT audience and non-NFT audience. Clearly the $50 million dollars was spent by those who are in the NFT/crypto market, whilst the vast majority of us couldn’t care less and just want to play games for fun without some other unregulated monetisation model ruining it.

I'm pretty sure it was crypto bros who were the majority of buyers of peter molyneux NFTs, not gamers.

What about the news that the new TikTok streaming studio is another case of a corporation stealing from the OBS Studio open-source project?

I tried the Beast Burger stuff a couple months ago and was extremely underwhelmed. A cheeseburger with grilled onions is hard to screw up but apparently you can manage it by just... leaving out the grilled onions. And their fried chicken sandwich was so forgettable it took me a minute to remember I tried it. Hopefully this TikTok popup's food will be a little bit better!

out of curiosity, was the first and only time Linus said 'quick bits' long ago an accident or not?

The reason I get so particular about getting reporting on NFTs is that there's just so many vague promises only backed by deliberately complex technology that it's way too hard for consumers to make good decisions.

Tictok going after Twitch is actually really good since Twitch has been totally crapping the bag when it comes to creators, it'll give them good competition and bring in a crowd from Tictok it's self that'll help getting it going. One of the largest problems new platforms face often is just having creators on it
