Did you miss Landowner Leaders - Q&A Webinar: Caring for Carolinian Habitat on Your Land? Attendees heard from landowners who have successfully completed Habitat Action Plans on their own properties and gott a chance to ask them questions:
Stan Caveney, and his wife Anita, own Meadow Woods, a 108 acre undeveloped property in West Elgin. Their goal is to restore a continuous strip of riverine forest through the property and to increase forest interior habitat. Stan has recorded Jefferson Salamander and Yellow-Breasted Chat breeding on the property.
Kathryn Boothby and her husband purchased a 51 acre property on the west edge of Norfolk County in 2005. They are retiring the previously farmed land and Improving opportunities for wildlife in the existing woodlot, and expanding existing woodlot and wetland habitat.
Dave Ainslie is a farmer in east Essex County. He stewards a small woodlot located on the south end of his farm. Dave takes great pride in the abundant flora and fauna that have made his small property home. Native tree plantings and a snake hibernaculum are two of his recent projects.
