I watched this yesterday. It apparently has a low rating, but I don't understand why. This is a very good slow-burn horror movie. I did have a couple issues, but ultimately they are very minor. I recommend this movie to anyone who enjoys rising tension more than jumpscares.

this is based on the Kola superdeep borehole in Russia. It had an interesting anomaly that the sounds you hear at 0:42 seconds in this preview were actually recorded from the bottom of the hole over 7 miles down. I was wondering how long it would take for someone to make a movie about the "borehole to hell".

At first I thought last year’s Russian SciFi film, “Sputnik, ” was going to be absolute garbage. I was wrong. “Sputnik” was very, very good. Here’s hoping this movie is better than the trailer.

Anytime a trailer leaves you asking " what the hell is that ". Then you know the movie is good. Mystery, intrigue, tension. Now I have to see this movie.

A complex and interesting film. A well-written film with a serious drama sci-fi story that has you guessing throughout. Some of the set design is A+.
The atmosphere is created as you descend into the shaft and go deep into the earth. Thousands of feet below the surface of the planet what they find is something that is really interesting and semi-realistic. The whole family could watch this as this Russian film has integrity with higher standards that do not show any smoking, nudity with minimal violence.
I really enjoyed this film.

12000 m under the ground, and nobody is getting cooked alive despite the literal oven temperatures that deep.

The Kola superdeep borehole reaches over 12200 m deep, and they had to stop drilling because the rock started to show plasticity, at a temperature of 180°C. I guess is still not as bad as the movie “The Core”.
