I used Montreal's stadium to swim regularly and often went there for sport activities with my school. They just renovated a bunch of stuff including the biodome right next to it. I love how they managed to convert it into a place for the public. They even added a movie theater, a planetarium, a botanical garden and insectarium, and a metro (subway) all within walking distance. They also used it to give out COVID vaccines!

These of Munich were the first high-tech buildings in the history of the olympic games. Years ahead of its time. The world-famous tent roof still looks so futuristic today. Absolutely unique!

The stadiums of Berlin, Rome, Moscow and Rio, also were used to host the finals of FIFA World Cup. In 2024 Stade de France in París will host the olympic games, and hosted the final's FIFA World Cup in 1998.

Amazing that of all the stadiums only the White City stadium has gone. I remember flying over it while it was being demolished in summer 1985 on my way into Heathrow, the old track still visible from the air. Coincidently I was flying in from Helsinki where just the previous day I visited the Olympic stadium from 1952.

curiosity: Although the Maracana was the official stadium for the 2016 Olympics, it was not the stadium used for the athletics competitions, it was the first time that it happened since the beginning of modern Olympics. Actually, there isn't even an athletics track in Maracana, so all the athletic events happened at Nilton Santos Olympic Stadium.

London's White City Stadium - 1985
London's Wembley Stadium - 2002-2003, rebuild in 2007 in the same place
Tokyo's National Stadium - 2015, rebuilt in 2019 in the same place
Atlanta's Centennial Olympic Stadium - 1996, renovated twice. In 1997 as Turner Field, in 2017 as Georgia State Stadium

Helsinki Olympic Stadium is not demolished, but was closed in 2016 for renovation. A reopening is scheduled for August 2020.
