Trondheim Jazz Orchestra is one of the most important and creative jazz ensembles in Norway. Since its establishment in 2000, the orchestra has been involved in a great number of exciting projects with Norwegian and international jazz profiles such as Chick Corea, Pat Metheny, Sofia Jernberg, Maria Kannegaard, Erlend Skomsvoll, Eirik Hegdal, Jenny Hval, Jason Moran, Skrap, Motorpsycho, Ståle Storløkken, among others. The list of renowned collaborations is never-ending, and it remains open for the next generations to participate as the TJO lineup is consistently fluid.

I LIKE TO SLEEP, consisting of Amund Storløkken Åse on vibraphone and Mellotron, Nicolas Leirtrø on bass-VI/baritone guitar, and Øyvind Leite on drums, grew up in the blossoming music environment of
Trondheim. They decided early on to settle there to keep exploring and developing the scene of music and arts in their beloved hometown. After starting the trio in high school, closely observing the renowned conservatoire
of Trondheim and TJO the first years, I LIKE TO SLEEP has grown into a multiple award-winning band and one of the most exploring and hard-hitting powerhouses in the Norwegian jazz and rock scene over the last 10 years.
They've coined their craft as "powerjazz to the people", meaning that in their music, you'll find anything and everything; it's there for you, you just have to listen carefully.

In "Pieces of Scattered Dreams," I LIKE TO SLEEP invites the Trondheim Jazz Orchestra into their universe, both musically and visually, with the intention of pushing their music in new compositional and improvisational
directions. ILTS is a monstrous orchestral three-headed organism of their own, and merged with TJO, they become a 12-headed trio, expanding and exploring the universe of powerjazz.

The lineup and dream team are chosen very carefully and with high precision to reflect ILTS's wishes and interests in sound and instrumentation. This boils down to gathering a band loaded with legendary musicians
and two wizardry technicians who all inspire us and bring an enormous variety of specializations - from being the biggest bombs of energy to delicate musical masterminds. Everything is set and ready for the greatest
journey in the dreamy universe of I LIKE TO SLEEP, and, of course, it will be powerjazz for all the people.
