I'm thinking first responders that deal with lots of ice rescues would have a practical use for this idea, like having something similar onboard their vehicles to take ropes out to rescuees when ice is too thin to walk on.

Really cool, I wonder how it would perform if you doubled up the blades on each tire and used washers to space the blades. Would it double your traction give you better launch or maybe it would do the opposite by creating too much surface area causing you to spin out?
