Ford Kuga SUV 2013 review - CarBuyer

Ford was a little late to produce a mid-size SUV when it launched the original Kuga in 2008. However, over 45,000 have since found homes in the UK, proving that the Kuga's blend of stylish looks, economical engines and sporty drive was more than enough to lure drivers from the Volkswagen Tiguans and Honda CR-Vs. This time around, rather than just being sold in Europe, the Kuga is one of Ford's global cars to be marketed in over 100 countries, so it has to meet the differing demands of many more drivers, while not compromising what made the Kuga a success in the first place.

I've been a car fan since I was a kid ( I could recognise makes and ranges by then)I love the fact I can check every current car model interior out without visiting any car shops or stuff thanks to you. 'Avoid automatic gearboxes'? I've driven a Kuga 2 litre diesel automatic transmission all weekend, and it was delightful as we gobbled up the miles around Scotland. Such glib statements sadly detract from the credibility of the presenter. The Kuga drove beautifully...such a grown up package.

Not a very good review really. Closing lines were "AVOID the automatic model, because Ford automatic gearboxes aren't as good as Volkswagen". On that same logic, should we avoid any vehicle that doesn't have an engine as good as an AMG, or doesn't handle as well as a Ferrari on a track?

Had my kuga for 6 months now and been a great car and I have the powerShift auto and it is a great gearbox.

The Kuga is the best small crossover, yes, I'd buy one over anything else in the segment. As I have said, the Kuga isn't the only one that gets poor for safety in that test. Although, in the test the driver would have only had a broken leg, it got a poor rating. Yes I do have a Mondeo. It's a lovely car. :)

My mom has a mondeo. I have to say its a good car, my dad doesnt think so, thats why he has a C class but anyway. The Kuga is one of the best SUVs out there, its better than the X3

Previous model of Kuga has much more attractive and Coupe stylish design than this one but still this is the best crossover out there.

Brillant review.

I usually like piano black on the center console, but unfortunately I'm not a fan of Ford's new interior design language. I really dislike the whole look, and that explosion of tiny, thin buttons isn't helping.

I drove American version Kuga Which is  Escape I love every minute this car Fantastic the drive and interior better than kuga Very nice Car

Both Imperial or Metric are acceptable, so use whatever you like. We buy fuel in litres but usually measure consumption in miles per gallon. Oh, and Imperial gallons are different to US gallons. None of it is very logical, but quite good for mental agility!
