Here right off of Potato Quality's vid. Great info, glad to see the build used. I'd recommend adding just a smidgen more of gameplay footage to your Hot Takes, but not so much that they lose their identity. Just helps keep the visuals more interesting. The handy numbers chart is useful for numerically comparing strengths & weaknesses of a ship. Have you considered using "radar" charts? Not ship radar, but they are called radar charts in Word. Shows a grid of stats encircling a point. Would be great for adding to your visuals! Stay awesome.

Captains are a big drawback to new nations. Unless you have lots of xp, using a 3 pt capt on a hi tier ship hurts. They need to include at least a 10 pt capt on all ships that are purchased.

I keep considering Bazan as a Tier X Coal DD (I already have Khaba ). The Capitani Romani class is intriguing for me as a naval history guy. The Paolo Emilios show up occasionally and they seems to be a one trick pony using a five-step method:
- smoke
- run fast to a juice target
- torpedo the crap outta the target
- run away and try to hide with the really crappy concealment
- repeat
Seeing a Paolo in front of me really upsets me these days, ; often a competent Paolo driver can leave me with nothing close to kill

Is Alvaro Bazan a substitute for such tactics & a decent gunboat? Bazan has better reload to the guns, better HP; speed is nerfed, torpedo damage is nerfed.
- Basically, I am wondering if she can be a 'good enough' 'faux-Paolo' and a 'good enough' Gunboat DD . . . .

4:07 You've got the headings of the columns in that table switched around, I think. Burst fire should be the one that gives you the 1.1 second wait, right?

IIRC the Regolo is the basis for this ship, and your review might potentially have benefited from a short discussion of how she differs from her Italian cousin (in case anyone was thinking of playing the Regolo in the Public Test Server to get a taste of what the Bazan is like).

I like your scoring system, with a few caveats. On the face of it, Bazan scored 26 out of 50 for a total of 52%, but there's an argument to be made that she could also be scored out of 40 to give her a more direct comparison against other Tier 10 destroyers which also lack radar and hydro. There's also the complication of ships like the T8-10 pan-Asian destroyers, which can take radar but at the price of their smoke. How you would adjust your score system to reflect this, I'm not sure.

For me, this is a ship to think about very carefully before getting. Much research is required.

Very interesting review, thank you! I am not sure about the build though, as I see a lot of value in Superintendent and Radio Location skills for this ship. A 4th smoke and speed boost just seems really handy.
For equipment, Aiming Systems Mod 1 seems of little benefit, but the other third slot mods are all marginal boosts too.
Would be nice to see the torpedoes be a bit stronger somehow, to make a torpedo focus build an option - but they aren't :-)
Overall, I will be buying this for coal on release, but I don't see it as being anything more than just something different to play in randoms sometimes, as it seems a little underpowered, to make up for the burst fire gimmick.

in your hampshire video I thought you should have mentioned the quirky citadel placement as a point to its survivability rating. Having played about 50 games so far in this I will say..nothing. :)

I like this ship for coal, but I wouldn't spend doubloons on it folks. Clyde points out one thing that is a big deal to us normal folks and that is needing a Spanish National Captain! I only have a 10 point captain on Canaries and if you buy this ship with Coal you'll get a 3 pointer with it. I think you need at least 14 to be comfy playing this ship. That's a budget of Captain XP or work you should keep in mind when you get a ship like this for a whackadoo new nation.

Likely gonna take a hard pass on this one. Without a flushed out tech tree to support it, there isn't much value to just a singular ship in the line.
