I feel like NFS Rivals had the crazy air of not just a simple Battle between Street Racers and Police Officers...

With how aggressive things could get in Redview County, instead of Racers trying to outrun Cops, the Cops became so aggressive in their methods to apprehend them that the Racers began fighting back. Pursuit Tech, Reckless Driving, Crashing into each other Burnout-style. This wasn't a Battle. *This was outright WAR.* And sure, while NFS Hot Pursuit 2010 (And its remastered) had the same air, with both Racers and Cops also using Pursuit Tech, I feel that Rivals is a lot darker and grittier because of its atmosphere, and that's perfectly encapsulated by Rivals' two main characters: Zephyr and F-8.

Zephyr was just a small-time Street Racer that wanted to make a name for himself, so he uploaded a video of himself outrunning the cops and... that just went viral. So viral, in fact, that it sparked the outrage of F-8, back then, a rookie Police Officer climbing the ranks, as he began using of more force against the Racers, which quickly sparked some controversy with the public, that began protesting RCPD's ways.

But then, Officer John McManis happened.

Trying to keep up with the Racers, McManis lost control of his own car and was injured. Zephyr claimed that McManis had found his limits, while theirs was further, however, F-8 swore revenge against the Racers, who were now more than just their Rivals at this point. Aggressiveness ramped up, and as a result, Zephyr also declared the Police as their Enemies, and then, *War was Declared.*

During the course of this war, the RCPD got put on probation while the FBI's VRT took over (I don't even know if FBI even has a VRT IRL), and Zephyr treated them no better, but it was when F-8 went Rogue and stole an impounded Enzo to wreak havoc against the Racers that it reached a new breaking point. When Zephyr discovered this, and also discovered that F-8 was gonna be hired by the VRT, *he* decided to ramp it up, stealing a decommissioned Agera and wreaking havoc against the FBI's VRT and RCPD himself. As the violence of everything ramped up and would end up causing Redview County to explode, Zephyr laid down the gauntlet: *THE GRAND TOUR*

This is where the story diverges: if you're playing Zephyr, you win the Grand Tour, but crash heavily. And yet... you still find it within you to keep going, to keep racing, and to keep defying the law all for the sake of Adrenaline. If you're playing F-8, you successfully apprehend Zephyr, but not without crashing and being put in critical condition, not to mention getting expelled from the VRT and the Police as a whole, and thus, feeling betrayed, he turns into the Street Racers he so despised, laying down a new challenge.

I don't think this kind of atmosphere can ever be matched...

One of the coolest videos ever made. My favorite song with my favorite game. That jump with the roadblock and helicopter with that song gave me the chills ( in the way that it was awesome) Everything is perfectly timed. Thank you. One of the biggest downfalls os nfs rivals was that this song was not there. When I saw that someone had put the two together, I got so excited so I say again thank you brother.
