A defiant King Henry VIII and a strong Queen, Anne Boleyn, were both formidable forces in their own right. In this documentary, we follow a timeline of events and reveal the personalities of this Tudor marriage. Was their relationship simply a clash of personalities? Or did the hurt and scandal go deeper? A love story about the Tudor's, a mother, her daughter Elizabeth, and their son's death! Our story begins towards the beginning of 1535, Henry appointed Cromwell as his viceregent in religious matters. Anne was never far away from a confrontation, and she gave little creditability to Cromwell's assertion that all religious buildings should be shut down. However, Henry VIII was also on the lookout for a new mistress! Yet Anne was pregnant, so was this the son and heir Henry had always yearned?

Let’s not forget that in the eyes of the courts of Europe at the time Henry’s legal wife was Catherine of Aragon. So Henry’s second marriage to the “concubine” as described by Eustace Chapuys was considered bigamous. No wonder Henry’s initial lust and affections for Anne turned into resentment and even hatred when she failed to provide him with a male heir to continue the dynastic succession- the very same reason he married her in a what was considered back then a bigamous ceremony

Thank Jon. You covered my favorite subject. Anne Boleyn was a headstrong woman. Henry’s capricious nature made it impossible to stay tied to Anne, especially after her miscarriage. Like her or not, she left behind a great legacy. I was 13 years old when I saw Anne of the Thousand days on tv. I became obsessed in learning everything about Tudor history. I heard about Anne Boleyn’s white falcon that was found. I’m hopeful there’s a real portrait of Anne Boleyn is in some vault somewhere ready to be discovered soon. Thank you Jon. Have a great week.

Great topic, love everything about the Tudor's👍. If Anne had a son her position would be secured no matter how she behaved. She sealed her fate with her miscarriage. Thank you for another well presented video😊

I have to say this is one of the most negatively spun videos about Anne I’ve ever watched. Keep in mind Henry was a narcissist and he was not a victim in everything.

Another excellent brief video full of interesting details and clear narrative. What horrible people They all were!
Not exactly the way Anne and Jane appear in Donizetti's ANNA BOLENA...Nice that you included a picture of Giulia Grisi as Anna..
