I spent six and a half years in the Army running incorrectly. Literally no one taught me to run properly. I would routinely get 14:30 on my two mile runs.
I had a professional trainers analyze my technique. She made me do exercises like you are doing and she made me change shoes. My run time dropped by almost a full minute and a half.
The Army is like the only organization that will actively sabotage you and then scream that you aren't doing better.

The legit way of training to run correctly. Most of the people dont even have the correct knowledge and try to teach their own believes. Ive been training in track and field for 7 years and it infuriates me to see people have pain while running and ignore those strict, but very helpful exercises. Keep it up man, great content youre making

3 best mental cues for long distance: 1) knees up 2) elbows in and 3) relax. Any time you notice your mind has wandered bring it back by saying those 3 cues to yourself.

Part of how I learned to run properly was in cross country, my coach encouraged everyone to shed their shoes and socks and run on a football field, that way we'd feel how we ran, and it was eye opening.
