Lyrics:
Yeah, this a rap about simplifying fractions
Y’all ready? Let’s go
Simplifying fractions
You can make it happen
All it takes is practice, practice, practice
Simplifying fractions
You can make it happen
All it takes is practice, practice, practice
To simplify a fraction
We gotta take action
Let’s find a common factor
Of the numerator and denominator
Yeah then divide them both
By the common factor
And don’t stop till common factors are no more no more
Yeah let me show you how its done
Here we got a pizza
Let’s cut it into pieces
Eight to be exact
And I was hungry so I ate half
What are we left with?
Four eighths four eighths
Lets break it down to a simpler form
Divide both by 2
What else can we do
Can we simplify it again
Yes we can
Let’s try 2 once more eww
Now we got one half
And that’s that
Simplifying fractions
You can make it happen
All it takes is practice, practice, practice
Simplifying fractions
You can make it happen
All it takes is practice, practice, practice
Another way to do it
Find the greatest common factor
What’s that you ask
It’s the largest number
That goes into the top and bottom
So let’s take a look at eight twelths
The factors of 8 are 2 and 4
The factors of 12 are 2, 3, 4, and don’t forget 6
4 is the largest so divide it into both
And that gives us two thirds
You nerds yeah yeah
Two thirds is our answer yeah yeah
And we’re done
