Poor Sansa's so traumatized and mixed up and confused she really believes her own day dreams.

"This will mean something in a later book"

Good one, George. Such a thing would require there to be a later book.

Sansa was 12 at the time of the battle. I think this needs to be made super clear, she was just told by Cercei that if they lose, the only options are being killed by the man who killed her father or be raped and then killed by Stannis' men.
She was mentally not there. She fully disassociated from reality the entire night. Sansa duing her time in King's Landing often dissociated during traumatic moments.

The most interesting thing about Sansa and the Hound reuniting in the next book will be the fact it means George RR Martin has actually finished another book.

She really latched on to the only guy who didn’t actively hate her and saw her as a person.

“Source?”
Sansa: “My source is that I made it the fuck up”

Y'all Sansa is extremely traumatized and it's not uncommon for the mind to make false memories that feel very real when it's in survival mode

He taught her about the dangers of the world, and he protected her from the monster that was Joffrey. Do you blame her for liking him a bit?

Tbh I don't blame her after all the trauma she went through.

Could it be that a child of 12 who's gone under heavy trauma might dissociate from reality and suffer delusions?

Sansa lives mostly in her head. That is what the hound told her biggest weakness was. That she felt comfortable in that scenario.

However, in the last pov Sansa reflects on her decision to go with little finger instead than the hound. She remembers that the hound took that night a kiss and a song from her. She still keeps his bloody cloak the same cloak he once cover her infront of Joffrey.

She also begins to understand that the most “beasty” men (the hound and Tyrion) have been the nicest to her and that the pretty (Joffrey, Lorath, and lord hardying) aren’t. That beauty is more valuable when it comes from within.

The fact that he said " in a later book " and not "in the next book" makes him the most delusional optimist ever😂
