6:18 pro tip about the tremortusk you’re hunting right there. If you think it is hard to fight, you can basically just go on top of the mountaintop behind it and shoot off all the parts from there. Using the environment as an advantage is what I always do, and it saves me a lot of trouble. If you start with shooting off its weapons first it will have no way to hurt you at all

Do not sell the crystal braiding. Even if the machine master playstyle may be niche for most people elemental clawstriders are the strongest weapon Aloy can get and turning machines against each other is one of her best crowd control options especially on the higher difficulties.

Regarding the beach farming method, go to the boat at the southern end of the isle of spires. The boat Aloy used to reach the island. If you use that boat to return to the mainland the nearby slaughter spine doesn't spawn which leaves the whole beach free to farm for animal skins. It's a large open area and running up and down it is probably the best way to spawn the beach critters.

Edit: also, I am not farming fireclaws to sell the sac webbing. I have killed too many and I know it's true value.

Perfect timing on this video. I'm just starting to run into trouble having enough shards for upgrades. Thanks.

Wait... WHAT?! THE 1K A MINUTE WASN'T CLICKBAIT?! Thanks you for these methods!!! I'll never have to worry about shards again. Also I won't feel bad because if the merchant can't realize there being scammed repeatedly that's there own fault XD

Finally someone outlines the lobstering shard farming technique! ❤ Walk on a beach in sneaky outfit plinking crabs & lobsters with cheap arrows (whisper bow is good). Sell the food & shells from the crustaceans. You can make $10, 000 shards spending almost no resources. Absolutely the best way to earn cash without using expensive resources.

Also remember that if you farm in stealth, you get bonus points for any kill, including animals. There’s always a place to hide when animal farming

The rebel outpost in No Mans Land right beside the Thunderjaw site has Corruptor husks you can get shards from. If you fast travel away and return (must clear out the camp first) the shards respawn.

Theres a small beach to the far west of the map right above a clamberjaw site, it also has a campfire on it. It spawns pelicans, gulls, crabs and lobsters very quickly. You can easily farm 3k+ shards every 10 minutes "legitimately" there. Just make sure you're farming during the day. An outfit with extra low profile is recommendable since theres machines close but they won't see you with +4 LP. With +2 LP they might be ocassionally alerted but they still won't attack you right away either

After the Duplication glitch I am far more worried about hitting the max shard limit. Need a video on how to lose shards the fastest 😂

A quick tip for the Tremortusk farm: Kill the Tremortusk, run back to the nearby campfire quick save and then restart from save it will pop the Tremortusk back up.

Perfect timing, I’m trying to complete all the arena challenges and failing a lot in a few and I don’t have enough shards to finish everything.

The best place to farm expensive animal parts in my experience: a beach around halfway between Tide's Reach and Thornmarsh, just south of a Clawstrider site. There is a very convenient campfire nearby, and it's big, so the respawn rate is high enough that you almost can't collect the loot as fast as new animals appear. Just don't get too close to the Clawstriders ;)

I played Zero Dawn on Ultra Hard before moving to my first Forbidden West playthrough, and I feel like that really primed me to make lots of money on hunting without trying. Because in Zero Dawn, animal meat is the primary component for health potions, so it was open season on any animal unlucky enough to get within bowshot (especially in parts of Carja territory where medicinal plants are sparse). I kept up the habit when I got to Forbidden West, and couldn't believe how much money I had without trying lol.

Pouch upgrade resources were a literal game changer for me. I took down the Tremortusk over and over and over and over... and finally realized that going hunting with my cheapest arrows on the beach with the boat was WAY more profitable. A lot of the videos I see with ways to get shards don't account for the cost of ammo. If you're using a 10 shard arrow to take down a 50 shard animal, that's 40 profit. Often when hunting machines, the cost of the ammo outweighs the profit from the parts.

Thanks for the tips. I've been farming tusks but I'll def just do the whisper bow thing. I Dont want shards for eveything but I'm over having to constantly hunt for ammo resources. Just want to buy a huge stock of everything I need for ammo and not worry about it.
