#Mandera From Above - Aerial View 2023 (Drone Film)

Mandera county is one of the three counties of Northern Kenya located at the apex of the country's furthest North.

Mandera town which is the biggest town in the entire county sits on a tri-border region bordering Ethiopia to the North and Somalia to the East. The town's metropolitan nature and its vast business empire made it the county's headquarter.

Owing to its strategic position in the tri-border region, Mandera is the fastest growing town in the region with the residents engaging in bilateral businesses with their neighboring countries.

The town boast of several kilometers of tarmac roads that has created safe passage of goods and people from one point to another. The breathtaking and scintillating view of the lush green environment, state-of-the-art, modern structures in the vast land of Green county, the meandering nature of the seasonal River Daua, the captivating extensive lakes, the fusion of traditional huts with the modern physical structures for living are all well explored in this aerial view.

While Mandera town has suffered spate of terror attacks and inter-clan conflicts, it has stood its ground and weathered all the storms that came with negative publicity and reporting. The bustling nature of the Mandera town and its people, communicates a different message from the negative publicity it was accorded by the mainstream media.

In this short aerial film, I explore Mandera from above showing you all the key places and villages you ought to stop by upon your visitation to the town. The footage in this video was shot in October 2023 on a DJI Air 2S drone.

10 years ago mandera was least developed county in Northern.
Today it's the only county that's developing at high speed rate unlike the other counties which remained stagnant despite the equal share of resources they got.

I never thought mandera could under go such transformation in that harsh geographical location with no rainfall
