I used to think as a kid that Amen = "Yes, Jesus." But I also heard from adults today, Amen means so be it.

Oh. 🤔. I always thought it meant, "So Be It"...

Amen = So be it. Truly. Verily. From the Hebrew/Aramaic (later into Septuagint) - be FIRM, confirmed, faithful etc.

which I thought it meant 'all men' like the old fashioned way pre-Vatican 2 we said it
Actually I have heard that Amen comes from ancient Egyptian 'amon' said three times in their beiliefs of the afterlife, bc Jesus spent his childhood in Egypt.. do you know anything more about this? What does catholic catechism theology say about this?
