Yorkshire is renowned for having the best fish and chips in the UK, but what if you're a Vegan? Well your prayers have been answered, because there's a plant based fish and chip shop in Leeds, West Yorkshire. JJ's Fish and Chips on Kirkstall Road.

The takeaway will offer up delicious vegan and vegetarian versions of classic menu items such as battered ‘fish’ made from banana blossom, vegan battered sausage, vegan calamari and vegan spam fritters.

It's a good option for Veggies, would not say traditional as cooked in oil. Yorkshire traditional is in beef dripping. The banana blossom looks more like stringy chicken than fish. But i think it will take off as more and more people are taking up veganism. Not the first in Leeds to do banana blossom fish and chips, Hartley's fish and chips Horsforth have done Vegan fish and chips for a long while now, this is where JJ's got there idea from. Good stuff and good review.

if your a vegan it appears to be just the job. the chips look real, but with respect there is no way with the alleged fish or Vish. The chips like Yorkshire? so where is the beef dripping its cooked in. Please transport this shop down to London where it would be right at home with the pretentious, luvvies, snowflakes etc etc eating off slabs of wood. But dont forget to hike the price to double. I am a Londoner and without doubt Yorkshire has the best real fish and chips.
