Ignore the slight frame mismatch; was a bit of trouble converting the UHD with the right SDR tonemapping to import to my editing program.

I can't believe they completely cut out the boom mic guy. He was such a compelling character.

could you imagine how hard it was for the boom-mike guy when it was the T-rex doing his lines.

Spielberg: "The 4:3 format and the inclusion of Boom 'Mike' was always part of my original vision."

This is awesome- I don't care about seeing the boom. Just fascinating seeing my favorite film in a whole new way. I wish the whole 35mm film was available.

It’s shocking how much more cramped that set feels when you can see the low ceiling.

I didn’t know there was a Snyder Cut of Jurassic Park.

In case anyone's wondering: The one on the right is a faded 35MM scan. It's not exactly reminiscent of the way the film looked in theatres.

I never noticed before that Dodgson doesn't close the taxi door. The taxi driver has to get out and close it, and he's not happy 😆 what a great detail.

1:18 there is a subtle shift to the bottom right which is completely removed from the final print as they not only cropped but zoomed in slightly to have room to stabilise the shot. Lovely

When i think of all the most iconic scenes in Jurassic Park to display in 4K, John Hammond opening champaign immediately springs to mind.

35mm felt so cool, it was like being there with them.

I think most of you are young and don't know it...
In good old days, the 35mm format was the one shown at the theatre, on the cinema screen. Mics were almost in every cut of the film, but the projector guy knew what type of matte add in front of the projector to get the right aspect ratio and hide the top and bottom part of the film.

Saw this movie for the first time in years, and damn I forgot how great a film it really is.

The 35mm tones are awesome.
The 4K version is a testimony, to how much detail celluloid can retain.

Wow, they really did a stunning job working with the film. I thought this would be another case of "crop bad" but I'm more blown away by how good they made it look

I really want to see a velociraptor with a boom mike over it’s head.

That 4x3 frame is so much better to watch! Thank you for sharing!

It’s awesome to see this as it shows how the movie was filmed and you can see where they decided to artistically crop the film to make it look more natural and fit better and to cover up the production stuff. This is one of my favorite films so seeing this makes me appreciate it more

This is a common phenomenon, if the filmmakers don't protect for an open matted 4×3 presentation while filming that's when you get boom mics and other equipment in the shot.

Jurassic Park was composed for and intended to be seen in Spielberg's preferred 1.85:1 (but how I truly miss his Panavision anamorphic days), it's also worth noting that all of the visual effects shots done by ILM were only done in the 1.85:1 ratio which means that on the old open matted VHS all of those shots were severely cropped on each side cutting off most of the dinosaurs tails and other pertinent visual information in the scene.
