I'd say the Williams Clio was definitely one of the best looking "Hot Hatches", although, I think the French in general always did a nice job when it came to the look of their "Hot Hatches"; I mean, the Peugeot 205 1.6/1.9 GTi was one of my favourites, and I personally think the 106 GTi was *the* most beautiful "Hot Hatch" ever made (I also love the Renault 5 Turbo, Williams Clio Mark 1 and Clio V6). The Fiesta XR2 and XR2I are also old favourites; when it comes down to what Ford were making, against what Vauxhall were making (around the same time period) I really don't know why anybody would have chosen a Vauxhall? (However, if I'm not mistaken, I think they made a Nova GSI? Maybe it was just the GT, but apart from that and the Astra GSI, I don't really care much for anything else Vauxhall made in that era, or even since). The Citroen AX GT and the Saxo were also nice; I think the Saxo was probably the second best looking car after the 106 GTi, that said, it's almost the same car, as the Saxo was built on the same chassis as the 106, and they shared a lot of the same parts... (if I remember correctly).

I have a williams second series I mount tires yokohama advan and I can assure you that with these or other sports tires and really pushing to the maximum (here the driver is not pushing hard) time could be close to that of RS2

I have a Williams, and I find the best tyres to put on the car, are Toyo's

I wonder what this car can do on high performance tyres.

Bruno, I have a Williams on Toyo's, the car can do much more than this video shows. Sure it would not be on the top, but the driver here is not pushing hard, he really isn't, just because he can't. Cheers

The Ultimate and extreme  GTi of the 1980’s & 1990’s ! <3
But to the opposite of the legend (made often by English or anglo-saxons ^^) this car has nothing to see with Mister Williams, except of course the name and the badge ^^
ALL is a pure “made in” the French Renault Sport/Alpine, the racing part of the French builder Renault,   who build the best Engines F1  for more 30 years now, with the most number of titles of WC F1  since the 1970’s
Everything is designed and manufactured by the engineers of Renault Sport/Alpine from the old famous factory of ALPINE in the north of France in the city of “Dieppe”
After this Williams so, the next Sport CLIO ‘ll take the letters of RS for Renault Sport & the direct descendants of this Williams are all the next CLIO RS and in 1st the older the (my ^^) CLIO 2 RS1
Renault Sport made this Williams to celebrate the title of WC F1, Pilot & Team & Engine, with the Williams Renault Team F1  in 1992 and also to run in the famous Rally GrA (missing now :-( ) where the GrA Rally version of this Williams was a queen during several years in the 90’s !

The driver isnt pushing too hard because it is the car of another person.. Im not sure he would like to get his tyres destroyed and his engine tired.

Sure it runned a better chrono but it would have remained the last of these 5 racing Clio or peraps at best the 4th with the too heavy 2 RS2 behind it
The Williams is a great "little" racing car sure & it was the best of its category in its time (for that it's a Legend) but vs the next Clio RS it is behind
Stop your dream just becasue you see the name Williams in your TV in the F1 WC or in your videogames & try to be realistic and objective even if you dont know nothing on the cars here...
