What I think is Maruthi doesn’t understand on which segment/price they should place alto..

Alto should have been more cheaper. People who are choosing alto expect decent features with cheaper (or affordable) price.
It seems like Maruti started dumping more features into it and price got increased.

People who are looking for alto might started looking on other cars in the same price range which might have declined the sales..
