Zach Bryan - Pink Skies

The kids are in town for a funeral
So pack the car and dry your eyes
I know they got plenty of young blood left in em
And plenty nights under pink skies
You taught em to enjoy

So clean the house
Clear the drawers
Mop the floors
Stand tall
Like no ones ever been here
Before or at all
And don’t you mention all the inches
That are scraped on the door frame
We all know you tip toed up to 4’1 back in ’08

If you could see em now
You’d be proud
But you’d think they’s yuppies
Your funeral was beautiful
I bet god heard you coming

The kids are in town for a funeral
And the grass all smells the same as the day you broke your arm swinging
I’m that kid out on the river
You bailed him out
Never said a thing about Jesus or the way he’s living

If you could see em now
You’d be proud
But you’d think they’s yuppies
Your funeral was beautiful
I bet god heard you coming

If you could see em now
You’d be proud
But you’d think they’s yuppies
Your funeral was beautiful
I bet god heard you coming

The kids are in town for a funeral
So pack the car and dry your eyes
I know they got plenty young blood left in em
And plenty nights under pink skies
You taught em to enjoy

My grandfather passed at 11:37 this morning. The sky is bright pink over his house. His grass is still nicer than the golf course he lived on. I’m here with his wife of 72 years because she’s never known anything but life with him.I love you pa. I’ll take care of the family the best I can.

Edit: my girlfriend is 16 weeks pregnant. The due date is my grandfathers 94th birthday.

You released this song the day my dad died, he passed away from a motorcycle accident and he loved your songs, I just want to thank you for making such heartfelt and touching songs that remind people of those who they have lost.

This morning at 6:30 am driving to my dear friend’s mother’s funeral the skies were cotton and pink. I said a prayer for Maureen Falcon and her family and this song came on. Had a good cry on the way❤. Thank you for this song!

It’s my daddy’s birthday today and we just lost him. Thank you Zach. He won’t be at the show next month in person - but he’ll be there in spirt. ❤

"If you could see me now you'd be proud." I just celebrated 6 years of sobriety. I'm living the simple farm life I told you I wanted the last time I saw you. I'm taking care of my dad like I promised I would. I miss you Oma. Thank you for the signs ❤️❤️

Lost my mom to Lung Cancer in 10 short months, she fought a very painful brutal battle but she tried for us and her grandkids. We brought her home on palliative/hospice care. She made it 2 days. It took me almost a year to go over her house to clean it out. She was my best friend in the whole world. I’ve been completely lost these past 2 years, a 42 year old mom still needs her mom. Love you to the moon and back mom.

We lost my older brother in February of this year, he was a photographer and many times we would drive out to the desert so he could take photos of the pink Arizona sunsets. Thank you Zach so much for this. I miss him dearly. 🤍🕊️🤧

I'm cleaning out my parent house looking over old photos and keepsakes with this song on loop. I miss my dad and I'm glad he lived long enough to be proud of me. RIP Arthur Sherman Feb 22, 1929 - Feb 09, 2023

This song brings tears to my eyes. My father wanted nothing to do with me. And my one year old is the biggest daddy's girl I have ever seen. I hope, I pray to God, that she looks back on our time together, hears songs like this, and feels the way so many of you feel in these comments and in these chords.

God bless.

R.I.P. Mandy Payne. I will forever love you and cherish the memories we shared together. Not a day goes by that I don't think about you. If I knew that would be our last time together I never would have let you go. You fought so hard and so long. I know you are at peace my beautiful friend and soul mate. #AddictionSucks

My old man passed this past May '24 just after his 89th birthday. This song has great call back to what he would've appreciated. The simple human experience. Hug your old man and appreciate what he's done even if they dont show it. Time moves fast and one day we all are sitting on the edge of that bed in the remaining few days.

Zach my mom passed suddenly at 64 back in November. We just sold her house. Thank you for this. I can finally feel her when I listen to this.
