Corina Boettger, the voice actor for Paimon, is currently facing financial difficulties. In a recent tweet, they shared that both they and their partner are significantly impacted by the ongoing strike, making it challenging for their partner to find new employment. Corina also mentioned their own disability, which complicates their ability to secure a steady job. Consequently, they heavily rely on streaming and teaching acting as their main sources of income. Right now, they need support to boost their Twitch viewership to help cover medical bills and daily expenses. Corina has entertained many as the voice of Paimon, and now they need our help. Simply watching their streams, saying hi in the chat, or donating a small amount if you're able can make a difference. Every viewer and interaction means a lot to them during this tough time.

In the US, Voice Acting for anime and anime-games is not a profitable job. It may come off as a surprise that Paimon's VA is not making enough money, but it shouldn't if you already know what the industry is like.

Voice acting for anything Anime is a job you do because you love Anime, not because you want to make money. Most (if not all) English VAs have another (sometimes multiple) job that they do alongside being a VA. They can't make a living on it alone, not unless they do a lot of work for AAA-games or are already an established celebrity.

This is why you'll see English VAs selling their autographs for $40-$50. Selling stuff to fans is one of the few ways they can guarantee income. (Btw- if you love a VA, this is the best way to support them. I bought an autograph from Scara's VA for this reason.)

Yes, Genshin makes a ton of money, but only a fraction of those profits will go to the American STUDIO that handles the voice acting. Then that studio dishes out the paychecks.

So the English VA scene is an industry being driven by a lot of people who just love anime (YMMV if you agree with what they do with that love.) It was already struggling financially. Throw in an anti-AI strike, and it's no wonder Paimon's VA us struggling.

this is what one of the VAs said about the strike — they said that yes they are fighting for their voices but it's also unfair how they can't work on projects because not everyone has an alternative way of getting money. They also said that it's unfair how some VAs were getting hate for working on certain projects when their US State has zero problems unlike LA.

As far as I remember, I heard something about Corina voicing Paimon for so long, like I think it was through the span of a Year, and during that time period it was said that Corina didn't get paid for her work

Idk if the studios are still paying her, she's literally been voicing Paimon for 4 years now, the fact she wouldn't get paid would be absurd
