Elvis had such a resplendent, pure voice. His voice is pretty, rich, nuanced and soulful. Thanks for this review. I agree: his phrasing, timing and delivery is sublime.

I got goose bumps every time he sings : "See how they shine ..." and his breathing power or capacity always amazes me. He was the KING.

Elvis was in his prime here, now a man of 35 and not a boy. His confidence was off the scale, he was so comfortable in his skin, he commanded the stage and his voice got stronger with age

It is hard to believe that anybody would make fun of Elvis for struggling mentally and physically because of reasons out of his control. He was human and we are quick to judge others when they cope but how would’ve you coped with being worked like a mule 24/7 and watching your artistic needs be ignored constantly? He was such an amazing person and his almost otherworldly talent made him all the more better. He was a truly amazing soul and he does not deserve to be the butt of jokes or to be unfairly made a caricature of Elvis the persona.

The man was INCREDIBLE! His voice was beyond perfection and he was Gorgeous! It was a crime that he received such poor medical treatment!

I believe he was anointed with great voice as well as his looks and more blessings in his life. There is no one who looks so handsome in the world, except him.

Here in 1970 Elvis was on top of the world. He was only into his second year at the International and was just 2 years away from his spectacular 1968 Special. He was happy. He was celebrated and adored by mega stars who flocked to see him and fans from all over the world flying in to Las Vegas.
His slow decline began around 1973. It was due to too many losses: loss of the girl he married who cheated on him & left him, loss of his precious little girl, loss of hope & ambition as he realized his manager would never take him out of the endless grind of a US tour rotation. Loss of his nearly 800 song master recordings - needed to sell to pay off his wife's divorce demands. The early loss of his mom, as well deeply affected Elvis.
The rapid, serious decline happened from '75-'77. All his friends were living in other states & would only converge in tours. He was isolating in his upper domain. He had gone into himself. He was extremely ill from multi-organ, multi-system failures.
This sensitive & generous man surely had flaws but his love, kindness & generosity far exceeded his human frailties.
The last nail (in the proverbial coffin) was the brutal betrayal of three men he entrusted his personal life & privacy to who wrote a tell all book, admittedly anchored in bitterness & revenge at being fired.
Elvis died the day he would have first encountered the press and his public just two weeks after the terrible books release.
He was heartsick about what it would do to his livelihood and how he would handle the Press questions & tabloid stories.
That book and the stories told by his ex-wife have tarnished Elvis' legacy in a lasting and destructive way.
He did not deserve such betrayals from people he sheltered, housed, provided for and trusted above all.

I, like you John, grew up listening to Elvis. There's a reason that he's still The King!

When Elvis sang you didn't just hear him you felt him as he touched your very soul. When Elvis sand it was like he was singing to just you. The passion and emotion in every word like no other will ever come close. Elvis is like a God among men, when he walked on stage he owned it and gave his all to what meant the most to him (HIS FANS}. The best looking man, the greatest voice and greatest entertainer this world will ever see, a gift to us all from the GOOD LORD HIMSELF. Elvis is immortal his music and legend will live on for ever. Elvis will never die he just went home to our HEAVENLY FATHER. Long live THE KING!

I am surprised the clean sound while the video is so old. His voice showed why he is a legend.

If you watch him, especially at the end, he directs the band with his body movements and will glance over at them to signal what he's going to do. Ronnie Tutt, Elvis' drummer, said they had to constantly keep their eyes on him for direction because they never knew what he might do🎶 There will never be another!!🎶🎸🎵💙
