Till now we had seen an integrand which have no poles on the real axis but if we drop this condition i.e. if poles of the integrand lies on the real axis then we solve such type of integral by excluding the simple poles by drawing semi circles of small radii about the poles as centres .So in this lecture we will learn to solve such type of integral with the help of example.
