Sol Duc Falls

Our first stop in the northern part of Olympic National Park was Sol Duc Falls. This is my favorite waterfall in the park. It has three distinct falls spilling over into a moss covered gorge, and they are overlooked by a log cabin shelter. It doesn't get much more scenic than this!

Marymere Falls

Difficulty - Easy
Miles - 2.1
Elevation Gain - 290 ft
Rating - 7/10

The second stop was Marymere Falls. This waterfall was tall, but not very wide. The log bridges and railings added to the hike and made it feel a bit like the Swiss Family Robinsons. I'd get here early for this one as the trailhead starts at a campground with quite a few other trailheads as well.

Madison Creek Falls

Difficulty - Very Easy
Miles - 0.2
Elevation Gain - 26
Rating - 6/10

Our third waterfall of the day was Madison Creek Falls. I'm not sure you can even call this a hike due to the length and it being paved all the way to the falls, but they were great for the effort. If it is later in the day, I'd suggest this over Marymere because they are really similar, minus the bridges and railings, and it's far less crowded. 😁👍🏻
