I think the Core Home Fitness Dumbbells are the best adjustable dumbbells you can buy. I also talk about why I sold my Ironmaster adjustable dumbbells and replaced with real rubber coated hex dumbbells by CAP.

Frankly, I have 552s and never noticed any bulky problem with them. They work perfectly fine for majority of my workouts. I'm 6ft tall and 205lbs. Chest press etc no problem, even biceps and triceps workouts. I use them with bowflex bench 5.1s and that one is very good quality too. No sharp edges to place them on my thighs when sitting etc. I can see them being too bulky for my lady. She's 5'-2" and about 120 lbs. If you need a set of dumbell 5-15lbs then buy a seperate one, they are cheap and available everywhere (even walmart). Pink color included. And Core dumbells had a problem with even minor drops, it can break the entire weight-block system and they become useless. Bowflex doesnt recommend dropping either but I did that a number of times and still are perfectly fine. Bowflex has better locking mechanism IMO.

Dang I wish I saw your vid two months ago. I’m in the market for adjustable dumbbells, now with pandemic you can’t find any. Or there’s scams out there. Thanks for your research. Those Core dumbbells rose to the top of my list.

Just buy a four pack of straps off amazon. Set them up to be a rack to hold the dumbell for ohp or incline press or dumble bench press. Set it to whatever height is your bottom start height and then you are good to go. Costs about $10-15 for a four pack of really strong straps.

For heavier dumbbells I can’t recommend the York Pro Style DBs enough... I bought the 105-125lb set before all the COVID craziness and they’re AMAZING. They’ve got a shorter handle with good control, rubberized and round (my preference vs hex) but the grips are what does it for me. I’m definitely loving your setup though for 5-50lbs and appreciate your thoughts on the Ironmaster as I use a lot of DBs with my training. Great video thanks!!

Would love to buy some, but there sold out, due to the virus I suppose. People are using them at home.

Just for fun; about a years later, Feb 6, 2021, the Core adjustables are running $600 on Amazon. Hex dumbbells are average about $2/lb. Name brand CAPs close to $3. Good times... stay healthy, all.

Hey brother thanks for doing this video. Had my own gym for getting on for 25 years now!! When i first started it my kids were small now my sons are much bigger than me!! Grrr!! I have only ever had adjustable dumbells but i am thinking of getting some Hex ones but i have seen a few reviews and videos where they have come loose or even broken off. Just wondered how you were getting on with them? God bless ya brother and thanks again, Steve from the UK.

I've maxed out my nuobells at 80lbs and I remembered this video from a while back. Going to start getting rubber hex dumbbells soon, but I did consider ironmaster and similar others.

The first ones, the core home fitness dumbells, look perfect. Definitely the best design I've seen in adjustable dumbells. I'll definitely look into buying these. Your setup looks great. Thanks for uploading. Cheers 👍

I used to use those spinlock dumbbells in my teens at home. I had forgotten just how annoying they were changing the weights in between exercises. or even worse when they lock really tight and your grip isn't as strong between sets and you are on the floor hunched over a dumbbell using energy whilst trying your best to get the collar off, then realise that you have three more stiff collars to do lol

I'm really liking your reviews. I was looking into getting more dumbbells too

This is super helpful. I literally just canceled the PowerBlock order I had placed tonight so I can get the Core Fitness set. You convinced me.

That's a nice setup. I went with the Powerblocks, and got annoyed with adder weights to do adjustments in 5 pounds. I ending up selling those, I actually was looking at Core, but someone down my street was moving and want to get rid of his rubber dumbbells so I took them off his hands (5-45lbs in 5lbs increments). Bought a vertical stand, and I'm way happier with them, then the Powerblocks. The vertical stands takes up no more space then the Powerblocks with their stand, but not as convenient as the horizontal stand you, but obviously less space.

Looks like a solid set, everything is SOLD OUT now days !! I wonder with this Corona BS and people acquiring home equipment how this will affect gyms in the long run when this shit passes
