One bit which tickled me in episode 1 was when after the main character, in conversation with a nun, says, “oh...I didn’t think of that.”, she replies, “Of course not. You are an ‘English’ ‘man’...a combination of presumptions beyond compare”. 😆

Nice to see a lot of subtle references to previous adaptations, mainly the Hammer films (they filmed at the legendary Bray Studios!). The castle seen here was also previously used as the Vampire’s castle in the legendary 1922 silent film, “Nosferatu”. Looks promising!
