no actually i have done my research and i think it goes like this. Chernarus goes to civil war against the chedakis. there are over run and need help. so then the marine core comes in and is successful. but all the Russian ethnic settlers are in danger so Russia comes in to help them but fails and marine core eventually take out the chedaki.
