The 3M glasses follow EN 170:2002 which provides UV protection in the 210 nm – 365 nm range. So, if your UV light is a number outside this range, then that explains the lack of protection. Without knowing your UV flashlight, I'd wager it's 395 nm UV light, and your no-name UV protective glasses happen to protect against this wavelength. But, without testing their full UV range, it's impossible to tell how good they protect. I have seen UV protective glasses that only cover 395 nm.

Great test, but in order to confirm your results, you have to provide the make and model of your control glasses. Expand your testing with other brands, this is important work, thanks for doing this!

I really want to know the brand of the better glasses! I'm a welder and I need this type of protection for my career. Please, please tell me the brand!
