Why is it hard to understand that there are levels to this? I’m a dark skinned woman so I am at the bottom when it comes to colorism and anti-blackness being thrown at me, but I can respect that even a biracial woman can also have anti-black experiences, depending on where she is. I don’t understand why people are so triggered. DSBW, other people suffer too. It’s not just us. We shouldn’t be in competition in the trauma Olympics.

Yaaassss Sis explain it to the folks in the back. It’s not complicated, Meghan did not want to take away from the experiences that black women go through by being disingenuous and pretending colourism doesn’t exist… Meghan is not treated the same way black women are treated because of her proximity to whiteness. Colin kaepernick said the exact same thing in his Netflix documentary.

Meghan wouldn't even be married to Royalty if she actually looked like a fully black woman end of story lol. 😂 things are complex.

I thought Meghan was white (Italian or Jewish maybe) until it was pointed out to me.

Meghan said she’s mixed. Not black. She has gone her whole life not seeing herself as a black woman until the media labeled her black and black Americans claimed her to be black. Please stop fighting for her to claim something she doesn’t see in herself.

If the late princess Diana wasn't good enough, no one will ever be. The royal family is a relict of an old, exclusive world and really isn't much more than a live soap opera at this point.

Kelly Rowland was never treated the same as Beyoncé. I honestly think Kelly look better than Beyoncé.

Meghan is unpopular because of her character. If Royal were racist they would never have let her into the family.

I agree with Megan's statement. All black people are not treated the same.

The Queen admitted having black heritage in her blood line… Queen Charlotte & then another King or Prince who was black. Read their history!

I agree. If anything it would be offensive for her to claim she’s being treated the same as unambiguously black women her whole life…because that would obviously be a lie

She lived her entire life like the Movie (Immatation Of Life) people she worked with didn't even know she was Biracial with a Black Mother she only showed them Pictures of her Father and White half Sister and Brother to make the illusion more effective so when she Marry's a Prince in a Country that has a 99% White Population and into a 1000yr Old Monarchy and she is treated for the First time in her Adult life like a Black Woman She can't Handle it and Runs Back to America where she knows there Wealth will Shield her from the Realities of Racism that Non Black Celebrities face Daily.

People, please concern yourselves with who is being voted into the governmental offices and the laws that are being changed without your knowledge. A great example is the state of Illinois. Come for me if you want but there are much more pressing issues than celebrities!

I totally agree, but I also believe race is the easiest, most obvious target to pinpoint. The abhorrent treatment has to do with a few things. They don’t like the fact that their prince married not just a mixed race woman, but a woman who is older, divorced (not a virgin) and American. Meghan is a lot of different things that they just cannot stand for a woman marrying into their rusty old royal family… But look how they treated their own Lily-white, English, pedigreed, virgin Diana.

For me, outside of the black community, it doesn't matter if you are bi-racial. No matter what that bi-racial mix is, you _will_ get that anti-black, racist treatment. It's a fact. As for within the black community, the colorism won't stop as long as it's perpetuated _by us to us._ The talk is there, but not everyone walks the walk when it comes to eradicating it within the community.

I think what most people are missing the point with her statement is that, think what you want about Meghan but her statement in regards to her experience when dating her royal husband was a “shock” to her is because without her saying it directly she is acknowledging her privilege she had because of her skin tone or due to colourism she was “white passing “ in Hollywood. Therefore, she probably thought when she married to the royal family she would’ve had a similar experience but didn’t, due to the vilification of her character from the British media. This smeared propaganda painted a certain image of her to the British public and now people are gaslighting her own experience as playing a victim . I think it’s wrong, regardless of her status and how rich she is, it shows the deep nastiness of colourism and racism which can affect us all, including some biracial people that do “white pass”. You have to remember it’s a shocking experience for people like Meghan because I believe some of them do think they’re better than us dark-skinned black women as in every aspect of our society, for example at corporate place, entertainment or social space the “Meghan biracial look type or Beyoncé look type “ are more accepted into those spaces. Unfortunately for Meghan she married into a century old system and Monarchy that was built upon the r*ping, stealing and colonisation of black people and other people of colour, so I am not too surprised about her personal experience with ‘some comment ‘ made about her from members of the royal family .Thus, why was she so surprised about it? 🤔Which shows her naivety or even arrogance about on what kind of system or “family” she was marrying into 🥴. I mean the whole Monarchy was built upon racism and classism so…🤷🏽‍♀️
Furthermore, in terms of Meghan’s character that is something the British public really don’t know that is why I still think it’s wrong with all the smeared hate campaign that is thrown against her because most of these alleged stories are from the British tabloids with no regard to context. If the late Queen loved her and so does her father-in law, then Meghan might just be as genuine as she has presented herself thus far 🤷🏽‍♀️. I believe why she and Harry left is just as simple as they said because of their mental health and perhaps Harry wanted to find a legacy for himself since he will never be king. In conclusion people should leave this couple alone, let them do what they want if you support good if you don’t just stop with the hate campaign is just disgusting at this point.🥱

Or maybe she started to "feel like a black woman for the first time" because she claimed herself to be white for her entire career
