Do you know why I fucking love Bastille? Because they make music in 3 different styles (sometimes combined): A little bit rock (this song, the silence, the draw), a little bit electronic music (bad_news and many others) and ballads (Oblivion, ..). For sure there is also a lot of pop..

this is honestly amazing. i love how he quoted romeo and juliet - the fact that he has studied english language and literature is a big deal for me. i think this song really captures the soul of bastille which i thought lacked in the other new songs.

Everytime I hear this song I picture a man who's ordered to kill someone close to him. He keeps on refusing, but eventually he gives in and does it. But he blames himself everyday, he cries, he asks himself why he did it and doesn't recognizes himself anymore. He has turned into a person that he doesn't know and that he hates. He feels disgusted with himself and in whom he has become. The person who ordered him to kill wants him to do it again, but this time he's strong and refuses. But the person can't take a no for an answer, so he sends men to beat him as a punishment (real men always thinking with our fists, my turn to be the victim), and eventually he dies, knowing that he'll go to hell, but happy to finish his horrible life and to put an end to the agony and disgust he feels.

I'm so happy cause Dan said "I'm at my happiest making music". New music = happy Dan, happy me. He knows exacty how to use his painfully beautiful voice, the high notes make me go like adwsfiwehfiwcfdsc <3. And he writes the most incredible songs and Woody, Will, Kyle and Dan are all such talented musicians and I believe very nice people too. So yes I'm in love with this. And soooo excited to hear the rest of the songs that will be on the new mixtape and eventually to hear the songs that will be on their second album. In conclusion: These guys never cease to amaze me.
