How to Troubleshoot “Couldn’t fetch error” in Google Search Console

If the sitemap you submitted isn't being accepted in Google Search Console, you need to manually go through each URL in your website and manually request for it to be submitted.

Check back in a day or two. It'll say "URL is not on Google"

Click on "Coverage" scroll down to where it says "Google Selected Canonical" and you will have the option to inspect the URL and it should fix the problem.

Wait 20 or 30 minutes and the state should have changed to "URL is on Google"
