It's amazing to see the proud look in Conan's eyes when he sees that his son is as successful as he is.

The smoking writer was probably John Swartzwelder—who I think still has the record for having written the most episodes of the show. Eventually they stopped tolerating his smoking, so he went to a diner and sat in the booth and smoked and wrote there. Then, when, they banned smoking in restaurants, he bought the booth from the diner, brought it into his home, and continued writing and smoking in the booth. Eventually he stopped going to the studio except for when his scripts were finished. Then he would just drive up in his car, hand them out the window, and drive home. He's a legend in comedy, and was considered reclusive, though I know they called him on one of the commentaries and he actually answered his phone. He was cooking a steak, if I remember correctly.

"We stopped at like Season Ten."

That's not a bad thing.

What a fan move. Sheeran could have fanboy'd in the back and asked all the question he wanted, but the excitement in his eyes getting to talk to someone he grew up loving the show Conan wrote on, asking him questions instead of being questioned. ❤

The monorail episode is just so Conan. The humour is exactly him and you could just imagine him saying things like “the ring came off my pudding can”

CONAN: they're comedy writers, they're very kind
SONA: bursts out laughing, looks around stage, looks back to Matt

3:39 lol! Obviously talking about John Swartzwelder, hands down my all time favourite Simpsons staff member. He is singlehandedly responsible for a ton of the shows funniest moments

90's Simpsons is in a league of its own. Nothing comes close to the consistency of funny those shows had.

I’d just sit there and ask Conan questions about the Simpsons for literal hours lol. Homer Goes to College imo is not only the best Simpsons episode, but one of the funniest American animation episodes ever.

One of the best things Ed Sheeran has ever done. Famous people should take the opportunity more to ask him about The Simpsons

I went to high school with Matt Groening. All he did in the 4 years I knew him was create and draw cartoons. He came up with phrases that everyone in the high school would repeat. I still remember a poem he wrote in my sophomore year which went, the feline made a beeline to the Sea line. Eventually in the Simpsons phrases were used that the entire country repeated.
