One really doesn't realize the complexity of what you are enjoying when listening to "Smoke On The Water." :) But I remember reading all those magazines for musicians where they would break their process down into mathematics, which is why I never could read music.
Or do math :)

Excellent! Found this right after watching your video on tone, pitch, and notes. This one is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you so much for all the work put into producing these. They are pure gold. (P.S. I found the playlist too, so I can learn more ! 🙂)

The fact that there was someone thousands of years before modern computers, astronomy, physics and chemistry that was already contemplating the notion that everything is mathematics, is crazy.

Another fantastic explanation of something I thought I already understood but still learnt something new! Thanks for the Bernstein link as BTW; I watched it years ago but didn't really "get it".

Loved how you explained. I was watching walter lewin's class and learned it in a hard way I wish he had involved music this way . Can you make a long video essay on TIMBRE ?

The fifth overtone is not the major third, the 81st overtone is the true major third, it being derived from 4 perfect fifths. The fifth overtone being called the major third, by fiat, is the greatest misconception in music history. Music is based of 3's and 2's. Throwing 5's also into the mix is confusion. People say the 81st harmonic is out of tune in chords. This is a lie.
