Many dont know but Kosciuszko played an important role in the American War of Independence. He was a close friend of Thomas Jefferson and other founding fathers. There are a number of places, buildings, monuments named after Kosciuszko in the US to this day. His fellow Pole, Casimir Pulaski also played a crucial role in the War of Independence. He is regarded as the father of American cavalry and he is also one of the eight people who have been awarded the Honorary Citizenship of the United States. Thank You Poland for all you have done for the US, and I hope US-Poland relations continue to remain strong.

Poland somehow made it worse everytime they tried to reverse the previous partition.

Actually, the partitions of Poland was a failure of russian external politics. Catherine the Great already had Stanisław Poniatowski as a king of Poland, he was her puppet. The entire Commonwealth as a whole was already under russian influence, and german states interfered to preserve the balance of power.

when you realize you save christians in europe from ottomans in 1683 but after 100 years later christians invade you and ottomans support your independence and don't recognize the partitions.

This year, Poland 🇵🇱 celebrates its 100th anniversary, since after 123 years of partitioning (since 1795) we became free.

How long did it take to research this? It must have been fascinating and fun to do so. Definitely enjoyed it! These videos always remind me of small historic events that you tend to forget.
