All we need is another monopoly to control prices on groceries

This merger would most definitely hurt Las Vegas! This would leave us with only 1 grocery chain in the city. Kroger, Smiths, is also the worst grocery store in the city. The quality of their meats and produce are of very poor quality compared to Albertsons. Kroger, Smiths, also has a horrible and limited selection of groceries. Beginning '15 they began discontinuing may name brand grocery items in lieu of their Kroger private label brands which are of very low quality and good of the garbage only. This merger will force many of us lower income shoppers to pay far more for meat, fish and produce because the quality is extremely subpar. We will have to purchase beef at Costco which is a much better quality but also much more expensive than Albertsons we would be that limited with where we can shop. Kroger will also end up closing may stores leaving many employees and families out of jobs. Kroger WILL NOT be able to keep all the current stores open. This deal is so very bad on so many levels. This acquisition benefits Kroger ONLY and would be a 100% disservice to our community.

KROGER (Fred Myer in MY State) and Albertsons are the two MOST EXPENSIVE grocery stores in my State. I'll forever go to WINCO & bag my own.

If Korger and Albertson would join together it would make food cheaper for the American citizens but no they don't want them help the American people

So here are my five questions for Karl Racine: 1) So if Kroger and Albertsons merge they will have 13% of the US Grocery Industry. Who owns the other 87%? 2) If the merger goes through Walmart will still have over 23% of the US Grocery market? 3) Why was Amazon able to purchase Whole Foods with no scrutiny on the level this purchase has generated? 4) Are you being selective in your enforcement efforts by listening to representatives of Costco and/or Walmart? Are you being contacted by various Employment Unions raising their concerns on reductions in force?

Private Equity will just order stores to price gouge to death with lowered competition

This deal is only good for fat cats. Zero grocery shoppers will benefit from the merger.

Better be worried about crime in Washington DC instead of nosing into matters he has little interest in. It's shareholder money anyway.
Wanna talk competition? Just think of all the stores that have closed because of crime related issues.

He's complaining about Kroger and Albertsons... . But is cool with Walmart moving into neighborhoods and then moving out leaving empty parking lots. I love Kroger and Albertsons but they are 2nd to Aldi's. It's ALWAYS calm and quiet, and they have nice stuff. ✌🏾

What is he concerned about? Kroger is cheaper than Albertson's and add value to them so they don't go under. I wonder how much Publix contribute to his campaign. He's not thinking about competition, workers nor consumers cause all of those things are better if this deal gets done.
