I did not see this interviewee coming. Absolute fan of RY X and when I saw the thumbnail on my feed I spent 2 seconds deciding whether I'd watch it. I love the music, but I was so pleasantly surprised to hear Ry as a person be so vulnerable and share who he is. You too Andre, your interview style is so welcoming and friendly, and you create this inviting space that I can't imagine anyone not wanting to open up and express in their most authentic being. Thank you both, what an incredible interview.

I love the way Andre allows Ry X to get his entire thoughts out. So many podcasters interrupt, talk over, or add unnecessary commentary to their guests thoughts. Andre gets out of the way and allows the audience and the guest to continue to connect throughout the entire thoughts. Such a great interview.

I can’t thank you enough for this, really. So glad to be able to hear Ry speak more about him and his perspective and thoughts beyond his music. Just amazing, touching and deeply inspiring and powerful 🤍✨

I am in compete awe right now. I listen to your podcasts on Spotify but had to jump to YouTube to comment how moving and heart opening this podcast has been for me. The title of this episode is what compelled me to listen to it as those topics outlined is something I’ve struggled with my whole life. I didn’t know who the guest speaker was. Right from the beginning, I was completely resonating with the lessons that were being shared, and when he played ‘Howling’ I felt such a calmness and a serenity. Just absolutely beautiful. It wasn’t until he played ‘Berlin’ that things clicked in my head. I was in a depression and sadness for most of my teenage years and when these episodes would occur, I would bathe in ‘sad music’ to kind of further anchor myself in that place and those were one of the songs I constantly had on repeat. I just knew the name of the song and didn’t know the artist name. Long story short, I would end up skipping that song when it popped up, because it would remind me of those places. But it’s done a full circle for me completely because his music was there in my lowest and in my darkness when I didn’t even know a light existed… and now it’s here again when I’m on my journey of awakening, remembering and walking the beauty way 🥹 This conversation has touched me so deeply (full waterworks) and I am so grateful for these conversations. The reminder that when we sing, it’s not a performance but a prayer to Spirit and how vulnerable that is. The reminder of play, radical honesty and true joy and the gratitude. So much juicy goodness ugh. How passionately he talks about being a father and a parent was just so moving. It felt like my heart was completely lit up and doing summersaults and backflips but also at times completely still, laying bare on her back naked. This felt like a gift from the Universe in the exact moment when I needed it most. 😭Thank you so so much for this ❤️

Wow. Honestly i never heard of this amazing voice until i watched this podcast. Extremely impressive, now I need to go deep into his music. As a father/ Sculptor artist I really enjoyed everything he said about going deep to the bottom and coming up for air. I started my spiritual journey this year and have had a huge shift in the narrative of my artistic expression and have been struggling to redefine my work and what I do. Know thy self podcast has definitely helped me on my journey ❤❤❤❤

Wow! What an incredible interview. I had to grab a pen and take a bunch of notes.

What a powerful metaphor of drowning in the deepest depths of the ocean, losing the colour spectrum, warmth, losing light itself, to gradually rise to the surface, emerge from the depths and in the process of coming up, the colour spectrum returns and you return into the warmth, the light.. I actually shared on this, inspired, at an AA meeting.

"Once you've been to this place, it becomes a cornerstone to every breath you take"

I love how he said, "now that we have it, can we reduce it to its maximum?"

& "with complete discipline comes complete freedom" (or devotion essentially)

Some key takeaways I took from this;

As an artist, to capture the essence (of a feeling, a moment, an emotion, an experience) and alchemize & transmute it with mediums of expression

Prowess that transcends genre.

As an artist, at the center point of emotional & spiritual, you learn how to communicate that to the outside world.

"Sing to spirit and be witnessed in that communion"

"The best art carries the shadow with it at all times"

Enter a portal of creativity

"Die to the version of yourself you thought you were over & over again" - a great description on the topic of ego death.

I love the suggestion of magnify those moments. Expand what is beautiful.

The importance of breath, to move your body, be in nature, commit to something higher, and be around those of love.

I also love the comment that André said, "somatically what it's like to be aware of your own mortality" about the death meditation

& Even just the idea of a woman giving birth to 'Sweat'.. "& I can't take it..."

I'm so thrilled to learn more of his spirituality! I could sense that when I listen to his music, but I had no idea! So glad I stumbled upon this interview. Amazing the way music transcends the continuum. You can feel the person's soul and connect without even knowing why..

This one. It hit so different. When he started talking about sinking to the bottom of the waters and your feet, get stuck in that cold, muddy pit at the bottom of the ocean. Tears stream down my eyes. Loosening slowly making your way to the surface. I felt like I was fully in it. ❤
